Rush would have problems, if the team prior to his coming in was based on the passing game.

However, I still feel the Cowboys will at least try to stick with the run game as the primary way to move the ball and get scores, and if that's working Rush would be asked to do little more than hand the ball off and make some short throws to the receivers, including Pollard and the tight ends.

That could work for a game or two, hopefully we'll never have to find out...

Somewhat surprised thought they would go with Gilbert after last Sunday. It was pick your poison but he looked better than Rush. We better hope we can find a viable backup QB in the coming days.

At least Gilbert had a regular season start and looked pretty good. Granted we’re screwed with either QB.

Neither Dinucci nor Gilbert, are serviceable backups. These guys should be in Canada or an Arena league. Dallas needs to get good veteran (game experience) help.

That's the problem with these two bozos trying to play GM and VP in charge of Player Personnel. They are more reactive than proactive. Two steps too late as usual. Truly quite a pair.

when the Jones meet and sit with their football guys ... the coaches and scouts, are they reactive to what their football guys are telling them ?
.. or is it an override and ignore to go maverick and do what the Jones themselves want to do based off economics, or their own ideas ?

That's interesting. Not shocking, but at mildly surprising. I hope that means they plan to bring in another veteran, but it could be it will just be Rush and DiNucci

He really didn't look good. He only completed 55% of his passes, threw a horrible red zone pick late in a close game, and his passer rating gets any QB cut.

The game was close because the defense and special teams had their best performance of the season. Had they played like they did most of the time that's a 38-10 rout and no one is lamenting the 8th-year journeyman bum Gilbert.

That said, Rush has even less experience and looks like even more of a bum. May God be with Dak Prescott.
