Garrett says it's 'pretty late in the week' to be calling a Pendleton type hat was with the team in camp to come in for DL help this game.
Garrett says a guy like Caesar Rayford 'has to be viable' for this game, that all the d-linemen will be up. Meaning not inactive.
Garrett says Bass got hurt in 'a competitive situation.'

because of Bass' injury,Rayford will play inside at DT. His listed at 267 lbs.. decent weight but at 6-7...that is light to play at d tackle

Jason Garrett's Friday morning press conference lasted only five and a half minutes.

Its doable on passing downs if its 3rd and long but very risky with Wilson as the RB.

If we can get through this game not getting gashed on the ground, I think we can survive just fine vs. the Chiefs & Rams.

Both the Chiefs and Rams have better o-lines than the Giants. And the Chiefs have J Charles.
Just saying that I would not be counting those chickens....so to speak.

The Chiefs are coming off a 2-14 season in which the barely scored 200 pts. New coach or not, I'm not shaking in my boots.

With the Rams, can their QB stay healthy? talent at RB?? The Giants possess a much bigger threat IMO.

I thought you were only discussing the running game.

If not, then I agree that the Giants are more likely (but not for sure) the tougher challenge.

I'm sure you agree that the Chiefs this year are not going to be 2-14 or anything near it...and the Rams only had one more loss than we did last year and look to be better.

Anyway, I just recall debating several people after our win vs the Giants last year and how so many said they "weren't shaking in their boots" over Seattle. Some were even belligerent about how certain a win would be up there.
Not quite the same but you get the drift.

Gotcha. Yeah, I remember the Seattle stuff quite well. Week 1 wins/losses can be very misleading.

I've chimed in on several discussions already. Yesterday when Bass' injury was reported, I wrote that they will slide a DE over to 3 Tech DT. Keep in mind, this DE will only be acting in a backup capacity and likely will only be used on passing downs. It's not ideal, but they will get by.

.

Hopefully with his long arms and height he can get his arms up on passing plays if he doesn't get to Manning.
