That is the exact reason it should be Jenkins. He has practiced with Romo for weeks.

We need someone with some speed on the outside.

Agree, if we sign a WR (and I'm not sure we do) its someone that can run flys to draw the safeties away while Romo throws to the TEs and Beasley. Until Dez gets back the guy we sign is only going to be in on 10 - 15 snaps a game.

Street is starting next week. If we get a couple of first down catches out of him and good run blocking, it's a plus.

This is a test for the coaching staff, I expect we'll need to add something different each week to get things done

Playing Street and Jenkins doesn't sound that bad until you realize they are replacing Dez Bryant. We need a better player if we can find one, IMO. We've got the Eagles, Giants, Seahawks, Saints, Patriots, and Falcons coming up, and this really isn't the time to be seeing what the guys on the Practice Squad can do unless we just don't have a choice, I don't think.

Just roll with Dunbar and Escobar as your extra wide receivers. Apparently the new theme in the NFL is to just dink and dunk underneath and block for bubble screens anyway. Twill and Street will just clear out the zones for all the under stuff with an occasional deep stretch throw to keep them honest.

If we sign somebody, I bet it's going to be somebody young that doesn't have much of a name yet. We basically need insurance in case someone else goes down, but Dez' looks are going to go to Beasley, Dunbar, Escobar, and Street for the next five or so weeks.

Williams is now our #1 but I have little faith in Street.

Randy Moss would be awesome, he constantly trains with NFL WRs in the offseason so he could be in football shape. Would remain useful even when Dez returns.

T.O.!

Of the ones we've had here I like Porter, but did he ever make it to the P.S.?

The one thing we do know is like Dunbar, Street has shown the coaching staff something they like because he has been active for so many games. This is his opportunity to step up and show us what he's got, so let's hope he makes the most of it.

Sounds like Randy Moss.

Reggie Wayne and Randy Moss are the two "name" players most mentioned by the media and fans.

Not sure how much either one has left in the tank.................not too many options right now, anybody worth a dam is already on a team.

Might consider a conditional 4th or 5th rounder and trade for a WR but I don't know who is "on the block" as they say.

I wonder if a guy like Corderrelle Paterson could be had for a mid-round pick. Maybe Andre Holmes or Roberts for Oak. and Was. respectively, who all seem to be buried on the depth charts as a #4-5 WR.

patterson is one of the worse route runners in the entire nfl. its the very reason he's been demoted. Holmes now is someone I would be ery interested in

Didn't we get rid of Holmes (although I did like him)?

I doubt teams are going to be trading this early. Everyone thinks they have a chance at the start of the season and they made their roster decisions last week.

Just need someone who can keep defenses honest for a bit. Dez injury makes Lucky unlucky. We have only two outside WRs and one is a very questionable "starter" in Street. Roster decision was not good in the first place. Escobar probably plays a lot more.

Denarius Moore might be the best vet option. Played one year for Dooley at Tennessee. Started well at Oakland first 3 years but Oakland had no options then. Last year did nothing. Or Kris Durham maybe. Both are 4.4 guys and still young. I could see Romo making Durham look like a better player a la Robinson.

Also could pick off Tre McBride from Tennessee's practice squad. Pet cat from this past draft. Too much freelance in his game currently. Pretty much just a go route, but that's the element that's going to be missing for 4-6 weeks. Not going to be able to do anything timing related. Very good special teamer at William & Mary. Also, intangibles and strong blocker.

No better player that will help is on the market. (unless we are trading a premium draft pick)

Imagine it would be one of our guys recently released that would already be familiar with our system....
Farmer
Greenberry
Jenkins
or, Garrett might be intrigued by one of the following available FA WRs....
Jared Abbrederis - currently on GBP PS
Jarrett Boykin
Lavon Brazill
Hakeem Nicks
Nick Toon

I think the other Vol from the same draft class should be the target. Justin Hunter has under performed with the Titans so far and got into some off field stuff. Played for Dooley as a Vol and the Titans just draft DGB.

The Titans are probably reluctant to trade him because he's still cheap, but you never know.....
