Yeah, it's a mess
By who? This is ridiculous. Fan of Dak's or not, he would be in high demand if truly on the open market.
Facts.
Tannehill got a truckload because he has done something Dak hasnt done yet. Take his team to the AFC Championship game
Jags wouldnt do it because they are re-building
Dalton would only dream of the supporting cast Dak had . Dak is the luckiest player , and he fails to appreciate it . One cowboys team official said if Romo had not got hurt , Dak would have never seen the field . Amazing how agents have affected players’ perspectives.
The fact that you mentioned Brady in the same sentence as Cousins and Foles says all anyone needs to know about you.Okay...but if Dak played like crap (instead of winning Rookie of the Year Honors) after Romo got hurt, Dak would have never seen the field.
In fact, if Dak did not play amazing in preseason, in place of an injured Romo and Moore, Dak would not have seen the field because Mark Sanchez would have started.
What is your or this person's point?
If Bledsoe didn't get hurt Romo would have never seen the field? What about Tom Brady or Kirk Cousins or Nick Foles? This is a nonsensical argument.
Dak played well enough in his rookie year to earn the starter status . But he is not elite . He is 1-6 last year against winning teams , and has accuracy issues , which he has not been able to shake off . My point is that he is a 4th rounder who is the QB of the most valuable franchise . The offer he got (35 mil) is top 2-3 in the NFL . This team and fans have given him every chance and support . It seems he does not appreciate it . And reality will hit him soon if he doesn’t wake up . If Dalton does well in camp , Dak will be booed the next time he chokes , and the controversy cycle begins .Okay...but if Dak played like crap (instead of winning Rookie of the Year Honors) after Romo got hurt, Dak would have never seen the field.

Forgot about Bridgewater but not sure Commanders and Giants are convinced they have their QB.New England. I think Belichick is going cheap this year as they have very little cap space. I highly doubt they'd be in the market for Prescott this year.
Carolina. Even less of a chance that the Patriots since they just signed Bridgewater to 3 years 63 million. Can't cut him due to the ridiculous dead cap over the next two years. Can't sign both because the combined cap hit would be stupid high.
Washington. If they didn't want to go with Haskins they would have drafted Tua while they had the chance. Signing Dak after the draft would make no sense.
New York Giants. No. For the same reason most teams wouldn't. They think they already have their QB. They're not signing any free agent QBs unless it's for backup.
Parcells put romo in the game because Bledsoe was stinking up the place. It wasn't due to injury.Okay...but if Dak played like crap (instead of winning Rookie of the Year Honors) after Romo got hurt, Dak would have never seen the field.

We now have a viable fallback, whereas Dak was our only option before. Sure, Dak may be the better QB, but Dalton is an experienced vet, and with the weapons on this offense, he could win a lot of games.
I'm up in NJ Giants territory, they are happy and ready to go with Jones.Forgot about Bridgewater but not sure Commanders and Giants are convinced they have their QB.
Jerry is the only idiot that would give him that deal.
Most teams around the league have their guy under center.
Pats wont sign him
Jags are tanking for Lawerence
Bears wont sign him after trading for Foles and that contract

Hopefully, we don't need to find out...but at least we breathe a little easier now.How many playoff games?
I think we'll end up paying Dak his $35 million or whatever, but this thread brings up a very valid point.
The Cowboys don't have to pay him that money. There's no real landing spots for him as far as teams who would and can pay him $35 million.
The whole thing is silly. He wants to be paid like the #1 QB in the league, when he's about the #10 best QB in the league. He's won one playoff game. All the top paid guys have either won Super Bowls or been to them. He has no other realistic landing spots. The Cowboys now have a very capable backup QB that would save the team $30 million or so that the Cowboys could use on a couple other star players.
I like Dak, but his wanting to be paid like the #1 QB is very hard to understand.
I feel the Cowboys have the leverage now, but I still have a feeling they'll cave and give Dak what he wants.
We will never know... but I think Bill belicheck might.. if he had the chance
