People complain that we use him too much ... others complain we use him to little. Geez ...
Yep. We're setting offensive records each week and you will always have some Monday morning head coach know it all saying they are concerned over one thing or another, offensively. Fact of the matter is, some people are just miserable and not much is gonna change that.

10-1 is 10-1 but I have a serious problem with how they are using Zeke Elliott. What we're seeing here is the feminine sissy mentality at work here. He doesn't get a chance to be Emmitt Smith and wear out defenses because we're busy "saving" him with bums like Morris and, for the love of God, Lance Dunbar.

He finished with 20 carries but a few of those we're at the very end. For 58 minutes of the game the man had 17 or so rushes. It's unacceptable. Lance Dunbar getting the 3rd down touches is flat out unacceptable. There isn't anything he does that Zeke doesn't do infinitely better. This is a special player who will wear down defenses in the 2nd half and particularly the 4th quarter but we're too afraid to maximize that talent.

I'd fire everyone involved in that decision. Raise your hand if you think it's a good move. You're out. Pack your crap up and hit the road. If we find your stones we'll mail them to you.

This could end up ending our season prematurely and it's really giving me the old forearm twitch just thinking about it.

Whether you want to believe it or not there is absolutely a rookie wall. Zeke isn't the one guy ever who is going to escape this.

Anything Zeke says to the contrary is just posturing.

It all depends on the play, the reads, the protection and need to try to dictate to the defense. It is a balance but you can't fault Dez for not getting the ball thrown to him when he is doing his job.
I am not necessarily faulting Dez nor am I faulting Dak. Just saying that Dak needs to pass to the open guy and if that is Dez, great...

I'm a little bit torn on this issue. I would love to see Zeke get the rookie record. I also think there is a huge drop off between him and Morris who seems to suck.

I don't like the series deal. It would be better to give Zeke a rest here and there based on down and distance if they want to protect him. They aren't really saving him either by running him between the tackles on predictable running downs either.

On the other hand, if Zeke gets hurt I think you can say good bye to advancing very far into the playoffs. So that has to be considered.

I could care less about any rushing record
This is about championships

You and I don't often disagree but here we do
Zeke has never played 19 games and he will (hopefully) need to this year

Also the intensity in the playoffs goes way way up and zeke has never experienced anything like it

I think they will use him a lot more in the playoffs

This defense is definitely cause for concern

It is but then I noticed at the start of the 4th quarter, the Skins only had 6 points. Granted, they were at the 10 yard line about to score but still surprising considering the D doesn't seem very good

You and I agree. There is a long game to play within the season when you're 9-1. If Zeke gets worn out, we have zero postseason chance. Use him intelligently.

Zeke is averaging as many carries as Emmitt ever did.

You gotta throw the ball to Dez, it is not Dez that is lacking here. He had Norman beat so bad one time and Dak threw it the other way.
Actually more than emmitt who avg 16 carries per game his rookie year. Zeke will have more carries this year than emmitt had in all but 4 years of his entire career

Zeke's the best rusher, receiver and blocker of the group. By a mile. He's also the best skill position player and arguably the best player on the entire roster.

Let's spell him for Lance Dunbar on 3rd downs.

The most critical down in football. Let's swap Emmitt Smith for Sherman Williams. Cause he could get huwt and stuff.

I have zero doubt that game looks different if we ride the horse.
Smoke...and likely some fire. The pitch count thing was a big deal with Murray two years ago and it ended up being a moot issue. Taking him out on third downs is seriously weak sauce. E. Smith never met many third downs on the bench. I don't remember any except in games that were already decided. You just can't play football this way. A player can get hurt in practice...you can never predict such a thing. He did have 120 yds all purpose and 127 against the Ravens, so he's still bringing good production...but third down is the money down in football...on both sides of the ball.

Agreed. Unless he's totally gassed, Zeke needs to be on the field. No defense will adjust with Morris or mcFadden or Dunbar, but guaranteed they know if Zeke is on the field. There is literally nothing the other guys do that he can't do better
