GB - Quick thoughts Week 4

Dak had a few bad throws, but to be 23-35 245 yds 2 tds 0 ints is not bad but good. Let's not forget he's a rookie QB playing better than vets, I've never seen a rookie QB play this well. I did not see one throw that I thought was a bad decision.

In a pretty windy stadium. Hardest element for a QB to overcome.

Have to say I'm loving this team. Not so much the offensive coaching or game management, but I'm loving this team. No Romo, no Bryant, no Smith, no Gregory, no McClain, no Scandrick... no problem...

A lot of credit will be given to Dak, but I think he actually had one of his worst games here. Was very shaky early, which put the team in a pinch.

The reality is that Zeke Elliott is carrying this team on his back. The only thing getting in Elliott's way is when the coaches decide to get cute and give Morris carries for an entire drive. Please stop doing this. Elliott is better than Morris in every facet. He is an absolute beast, and the haters need to eat some crow here. He is exactly as advertised. First down after first down. I believe he now leads the league in rushing yards as well as rushing first downs... He is the reason why Dak is able to do what he is doing. This man is mean! Could have had 200 yards today if the coaches fed him. This boy is hungry, let him eat.

I hope people aren't down on Collins. We all knew Leary was a great player, but he isn't in the cards going forward. It is what it is. It was fortunate that we didn't trade him, and I was definitely on that bandwagon. We're lucky to have him.

I hope Bailey isn't losing his confidence with two back to back misses within 50.

Brice Butler needs to take a long walk at the end of the game. Not a smart guy, and very inconsistent. Needs to take the chip off of his shoulder and just play. Look at Beasley and how he did it. That's your template. Beasley is a straight up professional, which is more than I can say for Williams and Butler. I'll say it again, I'll take Josh Gordon in a heartbeat down the road.

The defense still needs to step it up, but they're not getting blown out out there. I hope that Lawrence can really make an impact on his return.

Why can't Leary be in the future? If anything he is making a case that he needs to be in the future plans. The run blocking as been much better and it's no coincidence that it's been since Leary was inserted back into the lineup.

Also Beasley hasn't always been precessional, you could make the case that he is a bit immature with the way he goes at it with fans on twitter.

I think what is going to continue to make Butler better is that chip on his shoulder. He just has to know you can't spike the ball like that. It's a teaching moment for the HC. Butler has the ability and talent and seems to have a good head on his shoulders. I'm going to chalk it up to heat of the moment. It looks like the CB was pulling on him as he was trying to get up or rather pulling on the ball His adrenaline was high. However he needs to make that catch in the end zone though

Dak did very well, he didnt get excited being down 14 points. Kept his poise and did what he had to do. Big win for him. Made more with less today.

This to me was one of the more important points that might be overlooked.

Down 14 and it could've gone downhill quickly, but Dak just kept the team together and kept plugging away until it started to hit which was awesome. That shows how much more he's matured in the last 4 weeks as a rookie QB in the NFL

QBs like Jay Cutler are envious of Daks poise under pressure.

we beat a depleted SF team, with Gabbert at the helm, plus some of their players went down during the game, and we re here sitting like we won the SB. oh my what is this board going to be like when we face a team that can beat us. oh wait, that was the Giants and people went off on every facet of the team.
Its a week to week league and a week to week board.

Dak had a 119.7 passer rating in the 1st half. He whiffed on some sideline throws, which were probably due to the wind affecting the pass.

Got to disagree with you about DAK..

He drove the team for 14pts in the last 3 minutes of the first half to tie a game that was quickly getting out off control.

To me the problem early was the play calling was not aggressive enough.

When that changed..DAK changed and the game changed.

Zeke ad 23 carries. Morries had 7 and he went for 5 yards a pop. Anyone upset about this distribution is being silly.

Why in the world would we Murray him?

Just think if the JONES would actually invest in a Defense.....DAK, ZEKE and this OL with a solid defense.....sky would be the limit
I think that at least the 1st and probably 2nd round picks over the next 2 years will be invested in the defense now that we don't have to take a QB with one of those premium pick. Dak's emergence should really accelerate the rebuilding process for the defense.

We've got our two guards for the future. It is what it is.

Beasley has always conducted himself the right way on the field.

I was high on Butler, but he got away with a lot of push offs yesterday. And he was boneheaded. Also didn't pull down a standard catch for a touchdown, easily could have cost us the game.

Reading is your friend. Never said to give him more carries.

Just because there are 2 guards doesn't mean much. Like I stated above it's no coincidence that the holes are opening more once Leary was inserted into the lineup. That tells me that Collins has been struggling. I would hedge my bets and signed Leary as well.

You didn't state on the field only. So therefore my orginal point on Cole stands he's been a bit immature off the field with how he deals with fans.

Nothing was called and pushing happens on every play. It could be called either way. Butler made a mistake in the heat of the moment he will clean it up. I'm more concerned with the dropped pass he needs to make that catch.

You've made a huge assumption with no facts to back it up. Next you'll be saying Green is better than Smith...

I didn't have to state on the field only, clearly that is what matters the most...

He keeps doing that and he will start getting called, plain and simple.

I think Dak played very well but he almost threw that first pick with the underthrow to Witten and the defender dropped the ball.

Again, please read what I actually said rather than project your thoughts of what I'm saying into it.

I'm not saying he necessarily needs to carry the ball more, I'm saying that he shouldn't be taken out for an entire drive. You can give Morris the same amount of carries and Elliott the same amount of carries without taking him out for an entire drive.

People are really struggling with this idea. He is all for rotating RBs, even willing to give Morris more carries, but thinks it shouldn't be done in a way that has Elliott on the bench for entire drives. He doesn't like the substitution pattern and thinks it should be changed.

That's what I took from it. I think he made it clear, I hope your further clarification is enough.

I see you're thoroughly enjoying this road win?

The biggest surprise to me is how well the secondary is playing.

The secondary doesn't surprise me at all. Mo is finally healthy. Carr is back on the right side where he flourished in KC. Jones is concentrating on one position and Brown was a steal who looked really good in camp. If something surprises me it's Wilcox. He's been playing decent football.

I'm curious... that almost INT:

A.) was on him or
B.) route/receiver or
C.) flat out almost great play by defender?

I'm curious, I missed it... but heard them say it on tv...
