Smith needs to go to a team where he can be a 2 behind a guy who never gets hurts. Kid has skills. He just started too early in a tough environment. A year or so as a backup with a good OC or QB coach would let him develop.

Smart kid. Good measureables. Just needs time to learn and get mentally tougher.

That said, out staff is a horrible fit

Well....I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that i think Geno will be cut by the end of training camp, the Jets Have Fitz, Petty, Hackenberg, and Smith. I see Smith as the odd man out. Should that happen...what do you guys think of him as a vet QB?
He sure can take a punch!

The 2 backup QBs on this roster can hand the ball to Zeke just as good as a veteran QB can.

I'm no Dak fan but I think Dak > Gino right now even as a rookie.
The other thing is, our staff has proven that it cannot win without romo period. Even with superior talent and a decent backup QB, they can't do it. So for all the hubbub about backup QB, it's really just a typical knee jerk reaction about nothing. Romo goes down, we're done plain and simple.

Why are so many people against letting the young guys ball? Everyone wants to bring in a "name vet" even when that vet is trash.
Because the young guys don't have the talent to ball at this stage of their career and chances are, they may never have it. It is the same situation on the defensive line. There is a reason that these guys were last round draft picks or not drafted at all. Romo is a one in a million success story, so don't defend them because of his success. If they have the talent and are ready to play, they will be played. It is doubtful that some of these guys are in the league in a year or two.

The Cowboys are in a true no win situation.

They get critized for not drafting a QB and playing them when Romo goes down or they get critized for having a couple of young guys in Dak and Showers but we can't put them in. Either way it's open season on the Cowboys.

I think we tried his brother last year, Weeden, didn't work. Smith means a scaled down playbook so no thanks.

I'd rather let Ron Leary play QB. Geno is a joke.

Can Leary move in the pocket and promise to pay people back for expenses spend on kids? Man I can't stand fools like Geno.

I hope you guys like Shaun Hill because that's who the Cowboys are waiting for to get cut so they can sign him.

He is not a likable guy. Last year when IK punched him, nobody in the locker room sided with Geno. Trash personality and pea sized brain. Dallas can do better imho.
