Keep in mind, Dallas was 24th in offensive line experience last year (combined game starts of 2 Ts, 2 G and 1 C who had the most games started in 2011). Not great, and not necessarily where you ideally want to be, but a far cry from OMGZ TEH WURST LINEZ IN TEH FUTBAHL HIZTORIEZ!11111 like some internet experts are claiming (mostly based on nothing but raw emotion and faint rememberences of events that took place 8 months ago). It was certainly no where near as much of a priority as secondary and pass defense on the offseason "to do" list. .


Has Dallas done anything improve from a middle of the road pass offensive line last year? Well, according to the intrawebbings, no. I mean ......other than replacing both guards in free agency, having new starters at four of the five starting positions from opening day 2011, and bringing in one of the most widely regarded OL coaches in the NFL and making him assistant head coach in title and practice ... no. Other than those few minor tweaks, absolutely nothing has changed from where we were this time last year.

We also allocated several of our extra roster spaces to undrafted college FAs.

Honestly, I've been on CZ a long time, and I've seen a lot of reflex reactions and misguided analyses. I don't think I can ever recall as much burrying-head-in-sand and intentionally trying to avoid or actively twist reports as we've seen this week over the Center position. Pointing out that the line wasn't as bad as characterized, and supporting that position with facts, gets roundly ignored. Not answered, just ignored. Noting that our top two OGs have missed move of camp doesn't seem to be relevant. Pretending that the issues with second and third team snaps apply to the first string has become commonplace. Pointing out that reports indicate almost exactly the opposite, are completely ignored. The critics just leave the thread and move to another one where somebody's complaining about the O-line.

I'd think it was organized and intentional if I thought more of the abilities of the particular group of critical posters to organize or to do things with intent. Either way, it's weird to see. Maybe someone will buck the trend and reply to one of your three recent statistical ranking posts with an actual argument. We'll see, but I'm not betting on it.

Jerry doesn't draft Trench guys. We opt for the likes of Claiborne, and Dez. Guys that simply can't do their jobs effectively unless the trench guys do theirs effectively. Jerry has simply never understood this. He likes shiny things.

Once you all understand this, it will take alot of stress out of your lives. You can go into a football season with very little hope, and just enjoy the game.
