Genuine outrage

Who is Tyron Smith?

He's the OT that Jerry drafted last year. You know, the ONLY O-lineman jerry has ever drafted in over 20 years.

20 YEARS !!!!!!

You just might want to check out our drafts over the last several years. We've drafted quite a few Olinemen. Have they all worked out? No. The same can be said for all of the other 31 teams in the league. Go back and check on our oline during our Super Bowl runs in the 90's and then come and talk to me. Those guys were UDFAs, lower draft picks, converted Dlinemen, etc.

I don't think I can ever recall as much burrying-head-in-sand and intentionally trying to avoid or actively twist reports as we've seen this week over the Center position. Pointing out that the line wasn't as bad as characterized, and supporting that position with facts, gets roundly ignored. Not answered, just ignored. Noting that our top two OGs have missed move of camp doesn't seem to be relevant. Pretending that the issues with second and third team snaps apply to the first string has become commonplace. Pointing out that reports indicate almost exactly the opposite, are completely ignored. The critics just leave the thread and move to another one where somebody's complaining about the O-line.

I really noticed that when two days ago I posted the two Vela reports saying Costa was doing well. Bluestang followed that immediately with another blurb and then two days later posted about 8 or so youtubes of Costa driving people at the POA or pancaking OL.

All were just ignored. No flippant remarks. No attacks. Just no comment at all.

It's weird group think. I found some other stuff and found myself not wanting to post it because it was being ignored. I have noticed this behavior before and I think that it correlates with how the mods have been doing a good job.

They have been proactive and firm when people start getting at each other. As a result people are ignoring rather than starting feces. I just thought it interesting what my response was to it being ignored. Social control indeed works on the interwebs.

NOT AGAIN!

You are all right, and I am wrong. Jerry has done a masterful job constructing this team. I don't know what I was thinking. I will sit back and wait for yet another super bowl ring.

Take the homer glasses off and look at this team over the last few years. Take Romo out of the equation where we got lucky....DAMN lucky. If quincy could put the crack pipe down, Romo never makes this team. Without Romo, this is a 6 win team per year in the last 4 years. Why? Because our drafts in the trenches stink. You simply do not win in this league unless you can create holes for the running game, protect your QB, and get after the other teams QB.

Quit wasting 1st round picks on corners who serve no purpose when you give the opposing teams quarterbacks 4 seconds to throw the ball.

Look at Carlos Rogers last year. He was a bum for the Commanders because they had no pass rush. He goes to the 49ers where there is a very good pass rush, and he becomes a pro bowl caliber player. Why? Did he get better in his older age? DUH. No, the quarterback has much less time to throw the ball.

Shiny things are pretty, I understand that. RB's QB's WR's, LB's and CB's are sexy. But they don't add up to a hill of beans when you don't control the LOS.

But I digress.....you all know more than I do, so I will sit back and watch us dominate our division. Pass me the kool aid !!!!!

Yep. And that's one of the other threads I was specifically thinking about. Some really good content, and ripe for debate, and it just withered there and the thread died, only to see the same 'debate' crop up again elsewhere.

If there weren't a variety of good posters posting similar arguments, I'd assume I'm just on ignore with some of the people I'm engaging since they're people I've been argumentative enough with for them to put me on ignore. But it's not just me.

I've seen threads stonewalled before by facts, but that's usually an individual poster not being able to rebut an argument and not having the stones to concede. In this case, it's a dozen or more posters who are all worked-up and posting the same stuff everywhere, but who all bail like so many blue-and-silver minnows scattering when someone drops a truth-turd in their pool. It's kind of weird.

No, I'm serious. Cowboys would never use a top 10 Draft pick for the trenches, especially an OLinemen. Jerrahh will nvr learn!

Tyron Smith is a stud. It was clearly the right decision.

That statement makes no sense. If you have good corners who know how to cover someone and not line up 10 yards off their man every damn play, those 4 seconds becomes 6 or 7 seconds and gives the defensive line two or three extra seconds to get to the quarterback. I don't know if it was just me, but I saw a lot of our guys almost get the quarterback last season (especially D Ware) but instead the opposing quarterback is able to complete a pass quickly because our corners can't cover or our old *** linebackers can't stick with a tight end or running back.

Having a stout defensive line is important, but you can't ignore the secondary, especially considering how bad ours was last year.
