So whether we like it or not, the Cowboys will go into the draft intending to take a RB. They may even be desperate to get one, depending on if they can sign a mid level vet.

What I'm wondering is if the Chiefs can sign Maclin with negative cap space, why can't we bring in at least 1 quality player?

What an absolute shame it will be if the Jones' and Garrett let this team slip back to, or near 8-8 level.

Always a good position to be in.

The thought of spending first or second round currency to replace Murray (when we have so many holes to fill on the defensive side of the ball) angers me a great deal. I hope the plan is not to do so. If it is, we will have done nothing but spin our wheels this offseason.

Losing Murray doesn't bother me like it does most of the people here. He is in no mans land in philly. They'll lose and he'll get injury prone again. We have all seen this movie before when guys go somewhere else for the money and know how it ends. Jerry did the right thing by not spending crazy money on a guy not worth it. And he's not worth what they gave him. Just like Sam Bradford is not worth a third of what they gave up and are paying him.

I like the direction we are going. Big time contracts haven't worked for us in almost 20 years through free agency and I'm glad jerry seems to finally realize that. The off season is young and Jerry knows that tony has a closing window. There is moves left to be made and talent still to be aquired.

This place is like Groundhog Day with you guys freaking out the first two weeks of FA every single off season. It's really remarkable, actually.

Well there are no impact free agents left on defense that can help us in our two positions of need - DE and LB - other than Hardy.

And with Murray gone, if they don't find a TB in free agency, now what do you do with the first pick? DE or TB?

The more holes you create in FA the more pressure you put on yourself to have to make more and more picks be "hits" in the draft.

we live with risk and chance. we were never going after big names so in the
list of remaining FA pressure guys might be the answer
the draft might be a small help there were surprises last year
and Rod the great cultness.

For the most part they got away with it last year, because Murray's running kept the bad defense off the field fpr the most part.but they will not get away with it this year. and it won't get better by adding scrubs. if they don't go out and spend some money on some guys like Hardy and Fairley, to help get a pass rush. it's going to be a long year.

so no RB can churn out the yards to move the chains other then Murray ,interesting I did not know that

If it happens it won't be because Murray went to the Eagles.

Right, .. it would be because of all of the players that left vs the ones we replace them with. It would be because of the entire off-season.

what I wonder is why people just compare end results as if everything else before it is the same.
