Notice I said 2007 Commanders.

Let this seep in.

If you need additional time, I will understand.

You are such a smart aleck, and I mean this in the most friendly way, but it's just so funny.:lmao2:

Now on to posting something of some kind of relevance to this thread, I agree wholeheartedly with this:

A bad secondary can be hidden with a good pass rush.

A bad pass rush cannot be hidden with a good secondary.

2006 Pass Defense

# 23 Commanders 218.2 YPG
# 24 Dallas 219.1 YPG

Rather than look at this stat in a vaccuum, consider that their opponents threw more often on the Cowboys than did the Skins' opponents (511 attempts against the Boys, 486 against the Skins)... this is not so much because the Boys' pass defense was so much worse (it wasn't), but rather because it was somewhat easier to RUN on the Skins (492 rushing attempst against the Skins, 429 against the Cowboys)...

The Boys gave up the lower completion percentage (58.9 to 59.5), and the lower yards per attempt (6.9 to 7.2)... and as noted, the Boys got more sacks, and significantly more interceptions... it's obvious they weren't a good pass defense, but it's equally obvious that they were at least better than the Skins were...

Washington probably has a more talented secondary than Dallas yet Dallas had more INTs and they both had about the same stats otherwise except that Washington had even less of a pass rush. I think your post helps the argument about a good pass rush. If Dallas gets about 45 sacks a game they will have one of the best pass defenses in the league. Washington still has no defensive front they will allow about 220 yards a game passing. And if you look at the stats with Dallas with a healthy Ellis last year they were one of the better pass defenses in the league. When they lost Ellis they had one good game against Indy, after that it was down hill.

And if you want another case to prove this. Look at the Dallas defenses in the 90s. Those weren't know for great defensive backs outside of maybe Sanders and Kevin Smith if you want to call him great. Kevin Smith was closer to the real good. They got the QB and forced bad throws. But most of the DBs Dallas had in the 90s were just good at playing in the defense and didn't have to make big plays in coverage. Even Sanders really didn't have to make plays. He would make plays because he was an all time great. But all he had to do was stay on his man for about 5 seconds each play.

It is not rocket science.

It really should not be this hard to figure out.

I guess Deion Sanders spoiled people or something, I don't know.

Nah. I think that it's too much Madden. :(

... played on Rookie setting. ;)

I am sure a 3rd would be worth the investment if he is as good as everyone seems to think. You have to look at the corner situations of the other teams that would be picking "ahead" of us.

Our secondary is better. Either one of our starting CBs are better then either one of the skins starting CBs. Our 3rd is probably better. Roy and Taylor pretty much cancel each other out. Hamlin is better at coverage then anyone else they have- Landry will be a rookie this year; he has the potential to be great but we shall see.

Yet he couldn't pass his Spring classes? AFTER the football season was over?
BUT...he was able to pass his classes to play his first three years. I have no idea what happened during his Spring classes. Maybe the physics class was just too much. Maybe his test-taking double bailed on him. Maybe it was about a girl. :D Seriously though, he has outstanding talent and warrants a high grade. Currently, we have a BIG need at the 3rd CB spot and eventually Henry's spot. I would take him w/ our 2nd rounder in a NYC-minute.....
