Anybody else think the guy had no idea that the Wide Reciever had caught the ball and scored until several seconds after it happened.

He just looked lost that entire play.

I was also disappointed with Terence Newman for letting the Wide Receiver break cleanly off the line of scrimmage and go full speed as he is being passed to the Safety.
Said the same thing during the game thread

he was in perfection to make a play on the ball but had no idea where it even was, not a clue

how can anyone blame Campo?

when you pass a receiver into a zone you at least try to slow him down somewhat

Newman is a vet. should know better

Both of our cornerbacks were playing 5-7 yards off, and you can't bump the receiver when you play that far off, or it's a penalty. Jenkins let Berrian run free, too, on the other side. Either Newman and Jenkins played the coverage as it was called, or both of them messed up in exactly the same way. My guess is that the coverage called for them to play off, which means they can't bump the receiver.

Newman stinks.

I will be so happy the day that wuss is finally off the team.

I can't stand that clown. He bites.

I don't think Rice knew he had the ball at first. I have no idea why Newman didn't try to jam him.
Rice got a free release, Newman didn't even breath in his direction. I think this caught Sensabaugh off guard. Credit to GS, he was off a bit when the ball was thrown and caught up to Rice.

It did look like maybe he didn't think the ball was there. Helluva throw, can't take that away from Favre either though.

Wade said in the presser that he didn't see the ball and didn't know he had caught it. Wade was totally disgusted.

I heard that too. Wade sounded dumbfounded about the whole play, and how Sensabaugh could not have known. I almost threw my remote at the tv on that play.

Sensabaugh had Rice blanketed and Favre threw one of the best passes I have ever seen him throw.

Sensabaugh should of looked back, didn't (or just couldn't) but his coverage was so good he didn't think there was any chance the pass could get through.

He was wrong and that play really shifted momentum.

Favre throws that pass a lot of times and it is intercepted by a CB who is more adept at looking back for the ball. I can't really fault a SS for not doing that after he has ran step for step with a guy who appears to be one of the top WRs in the league.

I would question the call that put a SS on Rice more than the SS not being able to completely do the job.

It was what happened after the catch that baffled me. Sure great throw and all, but GS looked back after the pass in amazment rather then try to make a play on Rice. Rice caught it at the 12 yard line and GS did nothing to make a play after. After the catch he pretty much escorts Rice to the goal line. What an idiot.

The Cowboys were in a Cover 2 Defense and Troy Aikman was the one who stated this.

Whether people like it or not, this is how the Defense is designed.

He thought it was incomplete. Never saw the ball.

The argument isn't how Cover 2 is designed but about the sanity of having your SS cover one of the best WRs in the league on a Go route.

What?

So teams never ran Go Routes on those Tampa Bay defenses in the past.

Offensive Coordinators run Go Routes on Cover 2 Defenses all the time.

It is up to the Pass Rush and the Corners to help the Safeties out in that scheme.

Rice was wearing Sensabaugh like a suit. Kudos to Favre for the perfect throw.

He clearly didn't know it had been caught. He was still looking for the ball after Rice was already in the endzone.

I thought he was looking for someone to come make the tackle or like he was escorting Rice to the end zone. Pretty damned bad, but not the game killer.

I don't know, as I said on another thread, the game was closer than the score. If he turns his head around he had the better position, maybe he intercepts that ball and the game is different.

He shouldn't have been let back in.

Funny but I didn't see you two guys posting **** like this the past few weeks. Easy to say this stuff after a loss. Also how is it Campo's fault that Newman had his head up his *** and didn't jam the receiver?
