He just looked lost that entire play.
I was also disappointed with Terence Newman for letting the Wide Receiver break cleanly off the line of scrimmage and go full speed as he is being passed to the Safety.

when you pass a receiver into a zone you at least try to slow him down somewhat
Newman is a vet. should know better

Jenkins let Berrian run free, too, on the other side. Either Newman and Jenkins played the coverage as it was called, or both of them messed up in exactly the same way. My guess is that the coverage called for them to play off, which means they can't bump the receiver.
Rice got a free release, Newman didn't even breath in his direction. I think this caught Sensabaugh off guard. Credit to GS, he was off a bit when the ball was thrown and caught up to Rice.Yeagermeister;3237443 said:I don't think Rice knew he had the ball at first. I have no idea why Newman didn't try to jam him.

Sensabaugh should of looked back, didn't (or just couldn't) but his coverage was so good he didn't think there was any chance the pass could get through.
He was wrong and that play really shifted momentum.
Favre throws that pass a lot of times and it is intercepted by a CB who is more adept at looking back for the ball. I can't really fault a SS for not doing that after he has ran step for step with a guy who appears to be one of the top WRs in the league.
I would question the call that put a SS on Rice more than the SS not being able to completely do the job.
He thought it was incomplete. Never saw the ball.RESIN8;3237952 said:It was what happened after the catch that baffled me. Sure great throw and all, but GS looked back after the pass in amazment rather then try to make a play on Rice. Rice caught it at the 12 yard line and GS did nothing to make a play after. After the catch he pretty much escorts Rice to the goal line. What an idiot.

Whether people like it or not, this is how the Defense is designed.
2much2soon;3238029 said:The argument isn't how Cover 2 is designed but about the sanity of having your SS cover one of the best WRs in the league on a Go route.

Yeagermeister;3237465 said:He shouldn't have been let back in.
with the pass rush we have we shouldn't be dead last in ints the last 2 yearsrangers71;3239120 said:Funny but I didn't see you two guys posting **** like this the past few weeks. Easy to say this stuff after a loss. Also how is it Campo's fault that Newman had his head up his *** and didn't jam the receiver?
