I don't know, as I said on another thread, the game was closer than the score. If he turns his head around he had the better position, maybe he intercepts that ball and the game is different.

That's true. Just at the time I didn't think it was insurmountable.

So you would never call a zone defense? Teams need to mix up the coverages and play that defense all the time.

Don't question him he has like 36000 posts he know everything.

I'm not a fan of zone defense or the ten yd cushion we love so much.
So... why is it that Newman is the only one who seems to give the WRs a cushion?

Newman was like 8-10 yds off of Rice at the snap. Was the play called where he was supposed to jam him? Looked like zone to me.
If Newman had jammed him in the position he was it would have been called illegal contact. I don't see how you can blame Newman, unless he was supposed to be up on the line of scrimmage.

Jenkins did the exact same thing on the play so it wasn't just Newman.

Anybody else think the guy had no idea that the Wide Reciever had caught the ball and scored until several seconds after it happened.

He just looked lost that entire play.

I was also disappointed with Terence Newman for letting the Wide Receiver break cleanly off the line of scrimmage and go full speed as he is being passed to the Safety.

Same here on both counts. The first level in the zone is supposed to at least jam the guy off of the line. You do that and you have immediately killed the timing. I'm not sure what the hell TNew was doing on that play... Sensei should have never been left on on one on a free streaking WR down the sideline. He looked exactly like a "safety" on that play. I think Campo just dialed up the wrong coverage on that one.

Rice was wearing Sensabaugh like a suit. Kudos to Favre for the perfect throw.

It wasn't a perfect pass - the ball was underthrown. If Sense turns it all its a pick. On that kind of patten, the ball is supposed to come over the top and the WR would extend his arms to make the catch. The Vikes were lucky Sense was so clueless.

Again, you guys are asking a lot of a Safety to cover a Wide Reciever going full speed because a lack of a jam.

Gerald Sensabaugh should have turned around and played the ball but that play was all on Terence Newman.

Besides the middle of the field, one of the biggest weakness of the Cover 2 is the fact that you will have Safeties guarding Wide Receivers if you don't get to the Quarterback and the Corners don't slow the Wide Receivers down before passing them to the Safeties.
