Germanwings (Lufthansa) plane crash in French Alps

"You're everyone's problem. That's because every time you go up in the air, you're unsafe. I don't like you because you're dangerous."

A lot of little known actors then but that movie probably launched many careers.

they made the cockpit doors strong because of 9/11. And then the co pilot was able to get away with this mass murder because of a 'safety' upgrade.
Law of unintended consequences is how they will try and spin it; what it really is just typical bureaucratic BS where something is not thought thru just knee jerked to appease the mediots whining and crying.

If you are going to make the cockpit door a barricade then you need carefully thought out procedures to try and prevent what happened on that flight. To begin with there should NEVER be only one person in the cockpit.

and if they are going to make all aircraft now computer controlled then they should have a way to hit the panic button so that the computer takes over and lands the plane safely. BUT THAT needs to be carefully thought over as well. They can do things that will cut down the odds of this happening again but I am not confident they are smart enough to do it right.

US only flights require 2 people in the cockpit at all times, if a pilot needs to leave a flight attendant takes up station. Foreign carriers did not have a rule in place requiring this.

Yup, but a female flight attendant isn't going to be anything more than a speed-bump if the pilot really wants to do something.

exactly. That is why there needs to be something else that can cut the cockpit out of controlling the plane. BUT of course then THAT has to be thought out well also.

I can see sometime not far in the future where you will have real time video cameras on both the flight deck and cabin so that everything can be watched and then control can be taken from the plane. BUT sadly no matter what you do things are going to happen.

That's absurd.

What's gonna happen when a bus driver intentionally drives a packed bus off a bridge? Is a law gonna be made where Obama can control the bus via remote control? It's a dangerous world. Humans are sick. It was dangerous before laws. Dangerous after laws. Dangerous before technology. Dangerous after technology. Welcome to Earth. Wear a helmet.

Exactly. This is a very isolated incident where there is no "fix" necessary.

When you have few hundred people thinking of solution, there will be few million thinking of the way around it. Sometimes its called ingenuity when it is for the "betterment" of mankind, other times its called derangement.
