Get Cousins at all costs!

I've always liked the idea of drafting a qb every year. while the odds are admittedly greater at finding a franchise guy with a top pick, cousins was a 3rd rounder. jimmy garoppolo a 4th rounder. brady a 6th rounder.

Me too. That's partly what killed us after 2014. We had no one in house to take over for Romo in 2015, bringing in wannabe starters. The Pack and NE have been drafting QB's for years despite the fact that they had/have franchise QB's. Always keep a good spare tire

The title of this thread points to the lack of confidence some have in Dak. You would have to go back to the days of Quincy Carter to see this many fans jumping ship on a Cowboys QB.
I thought it was a WV dating thread

What I see happening here is a lot of veteran QB talent with past success and possible potential hit the market. Cousins is there already. Keenum, Bortles, Foles perhaps or Wentz, and even Bridgewater could well be on the market. Some of the QB needy teams might take the bait and sign some of these type guys. That could mean that the draft could be really interesting. It would not surprise me to see a couple of rookies QBs drop down the list on draft day. Some smart team may get some real QB value late in the first round or even the second. As far as the Cowboys "getting Cousins" goes, forget it. It is not happening. Next topic, please.
I think this makes most sence, Year 3 for Dak upcoming, Dak will have a lot to prove but he surely will get his opportunity to do so.

You're probably right. It has been assumed that several teams drafting before Dallas will take QB's in a pretty good QB draft. They may sign one of the FA's. Good point

Never Hated Dak seems like a nice guy....just feel he Stinks as a QB and we're wasting our time on our Tim Tebow of the Dallas Cowboys...

No one hates him as a person they hate him as a QB. You claim he stinks as a QB so you clearly hate him as a QB.

I did ............... he had a bad second half...... it is what we are all saying

he was sacked 10 times in the first half and 22 times in the second half of the season and threw 9 of his 13 INTs
Well duh... and I’m too lazy to look through my post history but I’m pretty sure I didn’t blame Dak for the Falcons game. But losing two players shouldn’t turn you into one of the worst QBs in the league especially when you still have an embarrassment of riches left compared to what most other QBs have, especially along the rest of the line.

He’s the worst QB in the league? Some of you are being ridiculous.

what bothered me most is even when tony's injuries kept mounting, all we ever did was look for backups for the man and never anyone to be his replacement. we got lucky with dak in the 4th round. hope he does better than last year this coming season.

Most other QB's don't play QB for Dallas. Some would say that takes the pressure off of them because they aren't expected to win. Look at Phil Rivers, he has had great talent around him at times, average at others and it doesn't matter what that talent level has been. He has nothing to show for it. No one really cares about the SD Chargers or LA Chargers or Phillip Rivers. He's jag media likes to laugh at because of his on field antics and raves at the officials. They are irrelevant in the NFL except to their dwindling fan base. Every year Phil get's to start all over with a clean forgotten slate until he's too old to do so. We don't do that with our QB's. We hold them fully accountable no matter if the # on the jersey is 12,8, 9, 4 or any number in between. Being QB for Dallas is a completely different beast

People always look at the line and blame the OL. It is not often you get a Hall of Shame worthy performance like what Chaz Green did out there, nor do you have an equally clueless coaching staff looking on in stunned disbelief for an entire game.

All in all, it was not just Atlanta. It was the rest of the year where he did not break 250 yards passing more than twice in seven weeks and threw nine of his thirteen picks on the year.

So take your pick. He is really good and was just shellshocked and hampered by a bad coaching staff and playcalling. Or that maybe that was closer to who this player really is. To me, he looked like he never saw the field well, displayed poor accuracy and caused more sacks than he should have during that stretch. He did not appear to be comfortable if the circumstances were not perfect like they were most of the time in 2016.

Tough to say which QB he is right now.

But I would hope at least people can look at the results and then feel comfortable saying the player has to improve soon and it is not completely somebody else's fault.

Cousins was a 4th rounder like Dak, Jimmy G was a 2nd rounder, I remember wanting JJ to take him.

We did get Lucky with Dak but I'm convinced he would have benefited from a year on the sidelines with playbook and clipboard watching Romo. No, that was not in the cards and he's done a nice job here. Still needs to develop without question. You're right, not having a backup for Romo with all the injuroes (clavicles and back) was myopic

So it's just satire? I sure hope so. Then again, I don't know when people are being serious or not on the internet, especially when I don't know them personally.

Oh, I think he's serious. Like you, I'm not sure though. I know he's been on that rant for awhile. To each his own

Cousins a stat padding spare who is a head case loser.

The irony of this is amazing.

People have spent years lauding Tony Romo who at the end if the day was not that much different in terms of grabbing the stats and numbers.

Yet he was great and Cousins is a head case loser?

Back when Jimmy G was drafetd we weren't drafting QB's. We drafet 1 or two over the 8 years that Romo was here I think and most were UFA. There aren't many UFAs who turn into Romo. The odds are stacked against it
