Get ready, about to return to the Dave Campo years!

If you're acting like that's a negative no sometimes first time head coaches especially they need to pick the very best opportunity it's why Ben Johnson stayed with the lions a year more 'cause he had opportunities last year he was looking for the best opportunity for success somewhere he can grow into the Dallas Cowboys are a team full of veterans especially at quarterback but at the core of this team are not as moldable and it's not a long term project I think the bears may allow Ben Johnson more time to develop and build the team whereas right now the Dallas cowboy window is barely cracked open and it's not as attractive to a first time head coach...

You're taking what I said out of context I didn't say it as a negative I'm saying that the coaches themselves just like free agents have chosen to make sure the opportunity is the absolutely best fit possible and in my opinion that's why Ben Johnson chose the bears it's a division he knows well they have a young core specially at quarterback they have a mobile quarterback that with a little tweaking he could be entering a situation like Dan Quinn did in Washington where they have things nearly in place but young a lot of money on the salary cap a way to actually ease into your job..

. The Dallas Cowboys team as it's set up is one of the things they want you to just hit the ground running and there is no room for taking time to get it developed and going so yes coaches make decisions that suit them best is not an anti cowboy rhetoric it's literally this Cowboys team would be better off with a coach with a little more experience.

I'm going to keep pointing this out though since when has Ben Johnson guaranteed success in the NFL???!!! I already listed a bunch that are failures there are more failures from rookie head coaches for first time NFL head coaches that came up from college even that don't make it then there are the ones that make it I think this team needs a more veteran presence at head coach so Ben did not fit here for that reason not because he didn't want to come here it wasn't a good fit and I don't blame him.. There's sure a lot of people anointing this guy's success without keeping pertinent information that he's not bringing that roster with him he's not bringing most of his coaching staff with him he's not gonna have the direction of Dan Campbell you think Dan Campbell are in the same divisions gonna be a friend of his now like being a confidant? There's a lot of question marks on whether even Ben Johnson is gonna be a good head coach it's not like the Cowboys just lost out on the next coming of Tom Landry I mean you guys sometimes are hard to have a debate with because you think we just lost out on some Big Lottery and we don't even know that for a fact....

but he didn't wanna go anywhere else either, there's four more openings, this is not the only job he rejected, the Dallas Cowboys never needed to interview him knowing that he wasn't coming here, it seemed like the bears was his target and he wasn't going to really give anyone else the time of day not just the Cowboys....
The hottest coordinator this offseason decides the Cowboys are a bad fit is a problem. Used to be the most coveted job in the league, now it has become toxic to work with the Jones Family and how they run the team.

We all wanted MM to go, but Jerry looking to hire another "puppet" is going to take this franchise back to the Dave Campo 5-11 days. They are going to say, wasn't it great to be 12-5 every year and be in the playoffs now only rooting for a better draft position. This franchise is headed for rock bottom!
I don’t think that bad. But enjoy mediocrity. The talent level is just good enough to be avg, maybe sneak into playoffs with early exit

I see this more as the Garrett years. 8/9 win seasons. 2/3 games that were lost by boneheaded coaching decisions. Good rosters wasted. Zero playoff success.

Dark days ahead.

No it's the situation,

I'm telling you stop making my words anti Cowboys rhetoric it is not at the moment for a young new virgin head coach, it's a bad fit for both sides, that is not what they need..

And you can call him the hottest coordinator but that's a name that the media and the fan base anointing this guy..lmao

there is no guarantee he's gonna be better than Mike McCarthy ,he could end up being the kliff Kingsbury from the Cardinals, he could end up being a Chip Kelly of the eagles, or the Urban Meyer of the Jaguars ,or Nick Saban ,I don't know where he went was it Miami??

literally these guys don't workout, just because you think they are ,
I'd rather have a guy that we know have had some success in the NFL before, that knows what he's getting into with a veteran group, maybe you don't understand that but there are a lot of places that don't hire a new CEO that's never been a CEO anywhere else, they go out and find a GM or CEO that's been already in those positions, that they've had a resume with track record, that actually says they might have better success than the first time guy..
If you don't understand what I'm trying to lay down here ,that just because he was anointed the name the hottest coordinator in the offseason does not make him automatically successful,

he does not get to bring those pieces, the Detroit Lions are made-up of Dan Campbell that's the culture he's their identity he hired Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson and then they built a superstar roster on all in roster.. when you break up, all those pieces how the hell are you supposed to tell me with a straight face that you know Ben Johnson is going to be successful and if he is going to be successful how long is it going to take ?? are they going to be patient enough for for him to grow into the job.. That is not a negative I'm saying that's not where the Cowboys are at right now with a veteran roster that's more in a we need to get it done now and there's no gray area to be patient.

If this were the 2016 Dallas Cowboys that would be what the bears look like right now a young fresh roster that just needs guidance... The Dallas Cowboys are a veteran core roster needs a little bit more seasoned head coach in my opinion... That is why it's not a good fit, it's not a negative.. It's just the reality of where the teams are different they're in different spots...

This is my last reply I'm getting off this little carousel we're on look Dan Quinn's having success he's a retread he has been a unsuccessful head coach and a pretty good coordinator it's not like his stop was perfect with the Cowboys but somehow he's doing really well for his first year in Washington up to this point and there's nothing wrong with that he's not Ben Johnson but he's doing pretty well the Cowboys already had him on the roster Dan Quinn's like a Mike McCarthy that is what our team needs is a more seasoned head coach if you don't get that I'm tired of this debate it's going nowhere Ben Johnson's a name he's nothing else he has no resume he has no track record so any anointing that's being done is more hyperbole you guys are stating opinions that may never be true..

Hated the playoff loses, but I loved every win. I didn't take any of them for granted.
That’s my outlook with one significant exception. As a season ticket holder, I was disgusted with games being over by halftime. And in the case of the GB game, having to drive almost 2 hours on icy roads.

I understand that it isn't a great 1st job for him, but in the past, coaches would be lining up for the opportunity to coach the Dallas Cowboys. We haven't seen many totally pass on the opportunity.

Campo was a terrible head coach, who was also was gifted some terrible teams. It's a miracle we won 5 games a season.

Besides Emmitt's chase of the rushing crown, and a few guys like Dexter Coakley there was very little to be excited about.

Hell no, McCathy was way better than Campo.
Now, what we get next may not be - but it's a wait and see on that one !
You cannot even compare the talent level on Campo teams versus the talent level on McCarthy teams. Good Lord people.

Hopefully 0-17 so we can draft Arch Manning.

And that is the problem right there. No it wasn't great to be 12-5 because it led to nowhere. Pure window dressing for three years. This season was more honest, it got us the results that fit this team and their leader QB. As long as he's here, that's the range we'll live in. No matter who's gonna coach.

I don't think we all wanted McCarthy to go.

I think we all wanted Jerry/Stephen to go.
