Giant fans sure are confident about beating us

cowboys gotta worry about protecting romo and the deep pass.

and with adams and colombo not looking spectacular it's going to be up to big leonard davis to lead the running attack.

the best part is no tiki. ware can rush rush rush. this should help, because i think eli is going to be able to beat the secondary badly. cowboys have no answer for shockey, nor can anthony henry cover amani toomer. if newman's not out there, it could get bad. i really wish aaron glenn was playing because he shut down plaxico.

this game could be really good if the pass rush is working, but it's going to be a pucker upper, because i think at the end of the game eli is going to lead a charge when they call off the dogs.

You make good points. I don't think Shockey's impact is being measured enough. With Wade confirming that Ware will be moving a great deal in order to ensure he is on the weakside of the formation, that means that Spencer will be asked to cover Shockey on a few plays. Spencer himself has admitted having issues recognizing a pass or a run and thus reacting slowly to each. In reference to that Wade said something to the effect that Spencer "should jam the TE on every play".

We all know the issues Roy has with checking Shockey. Hopefully Carpenter can help out on Shockey.

We'll see.

:lmao2: Ok, i live in NY (long island) and have to listen too these fans at work every day.....the GNATS have more problems than we do....
1...there learning a new defense also..
2...NO MORE TIKI BARBER....
3..sam madison isnt playing, so a rookie has to cover Terry glenn
4...there stating safety is now on injurd reserve...
5...Plaxico buress is hurt (back and ankle, hasnt been on the feild yet, i could cover him let alone NEWMANN at 70percent..
6...mathias kiwanuka is now learning to play olb..meaning he has to cover JASON WITTON...good luck there...
7...WE ARE AT HOME ON SUNDAY NITE FOOTBALL...so much more talent we have ..on offense and defense....we will put up at least 27pts..and the GNATS will b lucky if they score 17....GO BOYS........

Giant fans on one of the Giant fans forums I routinely check out (never post on it) sure are confident/cocky they will beat us.

Bwah hahaha ...Lol

You're kidding right!? What exactly should a dedicated opponent fan, from a rival team, in the same division, think!? Would you expect those fans should show a lack of confidence, be spineless and think that you will beat them.

No disrespect to any of your more serious posters, but I can tell you now that regardless of the outcome of either of the two Eagle versus Cowboy games, I'm thinking Eagles victory. Cocky, no ...faith in my team ...hellyeah!

is plaxico really injured or just dogging it?

also seems like every primetime game the cowboys get hyped, they starting believing, and the other team comes in with a chip on their shoulder and demantles them.

wade wilson is a black eye on our orginization........he needs to be replaced stat.

as for the game.........the giants will do good to score 13.

31- 13 cowboys

Yes, even though he did this while with the Bears. The Mediots and Cowboy Haters will associate him with it being a Dallas thing.

Good post and very well said....

Huh? Will Demps was never the starter to being with. And Toomer is back too-he's Eli's favorite target, not Plax.

Demps was a starter at one point, and Toomer is old and coming off a major injury

Let's just put it this way. If we can't beat the Giants in the season-opener, at home, on national TV, then we aren't what we think we are. We're more talented on both sides of the ball and the Giants have some serious issues on the OL and in the defensive backfield. We should be able to put 30+ points on the board and we should also be able to put a lot of pressure on Eli. If we don't win this game, I will be more disappointed than I've been in a long, long time.

Last year when we spotted Jax to a 10-0 lead, Parcells decided to just sit on the lead and let his D handle the rest.

It wasn't the D later on in the game that I had a beef with, but it was Tuna's laziness on the O playcalling that really got me-otherwise, it would have been over by halftime.

If anything, if we spot the Giants to an early lead, I would like to see how Phillips responds.

Dont get carried away, I personally see this game as a toss up.

However win or lose it will not dictate what our season will be.

FIrst games of the season, along with the last game of the season are completely unpredictable. No one really knows what each team has in store and you get upsets and blowouts.

Winning this game doesnt put us in the superbowl and losing it doesnt keep us out of it.

I do expect a very large rowdy vocal and emotional crowd sunday night.

Yep-I believe a few of our last SB winners lost their opener(i.e. Tampa, New England in '03, NE in '01, etc). BTW-when we won in '93, weren't we 0-2?

Losing the opening game this year with a new coaching staff, new defensive scheme, and all the hype about how good we should be would be very damaging, IMO. We can't and won't lose the game.

Yea, we started 93 0-2, but that was when Emmitt wasn't signed and it was also with a defending Super Bowl championship team. That team did not lack for any confidence. They were loaded and knew they could blow any team in the league off the field when they played well. This team hasn't accomplished anything YET. This year's team needs to get off to a good start and build confidence early. I think that is very important.

I hear what you are saying(and I want this game bad(but I want them all))... but you know what... its a long season... this game is in no way a BIG GAME.

We will lose some that we should have won and we will win some we should have lost.

We need to take care of business and stay close in the division. If anything the 2nd meeting between a division rival is usually the bigger game.
