Giants at Packers Game Thread

Roger only had one but it was the most memorable one.

Back then teams didn't even run Hail Marys like they do now, because a pass couldn't touch two offensive players consecutively and be a legal catch.

Roger, a devout Catholic, simply said post game something to the effect of "I just said a 'Hail Mary' and threw it as far as I could", and the media ran with it. After which I ran around my grandparents' living room like a little maniac.

You keep saying that, but it isn't true. He did for 2-3 games. But in general, he is one of the most conservative coaches in the NFL. No way he goes for it on 4th from the 2.

Were you saying that in the first Commanders game earlier in the season when we went for it on 4th and short...in the first quarter? And then followed it up with an onsides kick in the third quarter when we had a 3 point lead?

Tell me how you're measuring 'one of the most conservative coaches in the NFL' and we can debate it further, if you really want to. From what I"ve seen, when he's got a team he thinks can execute, he'll make the aggressive play calls. It's trick plays he doesn't really call all that often, but even that's changed here under Linehan a bit.

I remember that. I did too just because I didn't want the Steelers to get another SB victory -- at Cowboys Stadium to add insult to injury.

I remember a drunk and pissed Staubach presenting them with the Lombardi trophy that day.

They need to move Flowers inside next season. He's got some of the slowest feet of any tackle I've seen.

Garrett is one of the smartest coaches out there when it comes to 4th down. If he has a good team and trusts them, he'll go for it. If he has a poor team that is struggling, he's not going to gamble on 4th down to bail him out when the odds are against him and put a "bad" team in an even worse position.

I haven't always been red balls biggest fan, but I'll give him his due here.

A Christine Michael sighting. He's usually good for a couple nice runs then he disappears.

Luck, yes. But I think he throws the ball not just straight to the end zone but up and straight so the ball falls down. I've often wondered why more quarterbacks don't do that.

You need a cannon...that's why
