OK, there was just about unanimous sentiment on NFL Playbook that the Giants are the best team in the NFL. Martz, Sapp--everyone agreed on this.

So let me get this straight, the Giants barely beat a team that handed them 24 points, get gashed on the ground all night and can't score a TD in the redzone, yet they are the best team in the NFL? "They beat you with their front 7"(Sapp)? I don't get it. What does that say about us?

You can't point out facts to these former players turned broadcasters. All the NFL networks, ESPN's care about is ratings, not facts. Giants are a good football team, the best, I doubt it. Baltimore would kill them, the Jets would kill them, San Diego would kill them. Hell, we killed them.

If so, the NFL is really bad this year.
I didn't think either team looked very good.

Heck no ... just to answer the title of your thread. These talking heads will say anything. But, I do have to give it to Eli, that guy has come a long way. He picked us apart. But then again, we have had the worse secondary in the past 5 or more years.

No, if you take away the points we gave to them on turnovers, we would have beaten them. I still think the giants are over rated. They have suspect wrs, and a suspect secondary.

In reality we showed how to stop their running game, we didnt stop their passing game, but we gave a blueprint for stopping their feared running game.

one thing that may have turned the tide, its true that the giants beat us, with us letting them beat us on turnovers. At the same time, we proved to ourselves or the dallas cowboys players were shown that they can play with the big bad giants defensive line and stop their running game. If you stop and think about it, the cowboys beat the giants twice in 2007, but the giants were shown that they could score on us right before halftime and at the end of the game almost up in new york that year. With that attitude, leadership from certain players on the giants roster, the giants believed as long as they stayed with us, they could beat us in the 4th quarter. They did that exactly in the first half of the giant game in newyork in 2007 and almost at the end of the game. The giants did that in the playoff game in 2007.

So, now that we can score on them, and once that reality sinks in on the players, when romo stops his silly mistakes in big pressure games and the defense steps up at the end of big games like the pittsburgh game, or the ravens game or the game last night, then the tide could turn. I am not saying that it will, but I am saying it could if the players leaders step up, hold players accountable on the team and play all out.
Our dbs played poorly last night, so i still think that their wrs arent that great.

Maybe Sapp didn't see the game. Their front seven was awful last night.

Agree Sportsbabe, I never would have admitted this before but right now Eli is the better QB...and it kills me to say that. Romo has this year to prove himself...he is unfortunately running out of time.

before I put the Giants at the top of the list, I need to see what the Saints do against someone other than the Lions and the McNabbless Eagles.

Still, with Gregg Williams as their DC, the Saints finally have someone who can help bring that D near the level it was in the late 80s, early 90s. If he can turn that D into a top 10 unit, look out NFL...cause that offense is downright sick.

yes and no, one thing that we are totally overlooking considering romo is this;

How many starts as a starter has romo had-41
how many starts has eli manning had-about 70 games as a starter since 05

now lets look at the game that eli has a starter till he developed at the end of 2007; about 50 games, then eli manning matured, woke up

Ok, Eli with 50 games minus Romo with 41 games = 9 games, you should see some sort of maturing for sure if romo is indeed going to grow as a player

So about midseason or at the end of the year going into december you should see if Romo takes that next step in comparison with games started with romo. I am not making excuses for romo. He has been in the league longer than Eli, he should have already learned, but some players are hard headed.

Little early to crown them as "the best". We're 2 games into the season. :laugh2:

In my mind, I've got Minnesota ahead of the Giants(even if they haven't played anybody yet)

I hope the Giants are the best team in the NFL, that is good news for Dallas. The Boys are more then capable of beating the Giants if they play sound football.

After two weeks it's early to call anyone the best team in the NFL, but what the Giants accomplished last night was nothing short of brilliant. This is a badly beat up team right now missing a ton of outstanding talent, not to mention the fact that we lost Justin Tuck during the second quarter.

The Cowboys should have won yesterday, they had everything going for them. They were largely healthy, playing at home, in a brand new stadium with over 100,000 screaming fans for support and they still **** the bed. The next time the Cowboys meet the Giants the odds may not be stacked as favorably for the boys.

And the Giants will make the necessary adjustments, don't expect another 250 yards on the ground.

don't expect 4 turnovers. Romo has always played well against you guys until last night. his throws weren't even caused by pressure they were just bad throws.

C'mon, you can't be serious.

Until he actually proves that he won't cough up the football... and I mean for a prolonged period of time, not just string a few quarters together. Tony Romo is a turnover waiting to happen. And Romo has never played well against the Giants without Terrell Owens, and yes, I just went there.
