Well, Eli's smart in that he knows the time to strike. His luster of last year's Super Bowl win will only last so long, and his playoff effort this year was much more reminiscent of the Eli of old.

I realize we live in an era where big-name players get overpaid, but this seems downright ridiculous.

peyton will be making 14 million$ next year...rivers contract was signed before he had a good season. and brady took less money than he could make elsewhere to stay with the pats. do i think eli is better than any of the three? no. if you don't think eli is a qb, then that's what you think. either way, you can't argue the fact that he's been to the playoffs every full year he's been a starter and he won a superbowl. i'm not kevin gilbride, nor do i like him, so i can't comment on the play calling.
