exactly! if the Vikes couldnt do it. what makes one think the #17 defense can? These people forget that they dont have the Vikings defense.

Ask Baltimore and many other teams how that strategy has worked out for them.


Heck, the Commanders knew our plays, shut down the run and pass, and Dak just ran on them or extended play.

truth is you may have a plan but you don't have the personnel to execute said plan.

sure if this was mabye 2014/15 where 4 teams were more evenly balanced. maybe. that broncos D comes to mind and that 2014 Seahawks D. it be a tough one for sure.

but not this season. these teams have holes of their own to worry about.

they cant be so confident with their lack of balance and personnel.

Going man to man with Dez is just saying we expect him to get some but we are confident we can "contain" him with one man. I have not seen a team just go M2M on Dez all game

One problem with that is even if the WR are covered on any given play with 8 in the box you still have to worry about Dak tucking the ball and making big plays with this legs much like Russell Wilson. Hard to stop a QB when the DB's have their backs to the QB.

It's silly. There's only 11 guys on defense.

This guys all like:
"Ok just load the box boom zeke is out. Jenkins makes a lot of money so dez is locked down. Then you cover witten up like we've done the last 17 seasons and boom. Championship. I'm not guessing"

I think timing a run blitz and getting the cowboys behind the sticks is crucial. But zeke is too consistent and dak too mobile to just "load the box".

One minor problem - Dak has been one of the best QB's in the league on third and long.

Oh, and selling out for the run means you leave Beasley and Witten one on one, who get open pretty much whenever they want. And then there's this Dez guy, who looks completely healthy and back to his top 5 form.

there's just so many things to worry about as a D coordinator against this Offense. You have to let one thing fall. You can't cover it all. Which thing are you going to let fall? Whatever that thing is thats how Cowboys will beat you.

if you don't have the personnel to execute this for 60min and bring their A game it's game over. better hope Cowboys shoot themselves in the foot with mistakes more than they did against the Vikes. But thats not going to happen again.
