"Kenny Phillips???"
"New Orleans???"
Dallas giftwrapped four turnovers for New York.
24 points in a
two point loss where Dallas scored
31 of its points without the benefit of neither special teams nor defensive scoring. "Super" safety Kenny Phillips was the beneficiery of a Romo pass which took a freakish bounce off Witten's foot deep in Dallas territory; and an errant deep pass meant for Hurd, where he was lined up like a baseball center fielder 35 yards downfield!
You make it sound as if Phillips was some incredible playmaker who was the difference maker in the game. It was luck, not skill, which handed him his first interception. The Giants defensive coordinator must receive a huge chunk of credit to line up his safety nearly forty yards off the line of scrimmage in anticipation of the deep pass for his second INT.
Taking that into account, along with Felix Jones dropping a kickoff return without being touched deep in Dallas territory, it's easy to assume that it was the Cowboys, and not the Saints, who provided the blueprint for beating the Giants. If I were to go by your claim, Kenny Phillips would be seen providing smothering coverage on both Witten and Hurd to create those two turnovers.
That wasn't the case. Dallas drafted the blueprint. They simply didn't provide it's final draft (e.g. the win).
