Eli to denver, SB champs in 2 years just like big bro.

And just like Peyton his last year there, he looks done as a quality starting QB.

Not sure Denver is dominate enough to win again with mediocre QB play. although he may be an upgrade there.

You people are petty, he made one of the greatest throws in Super Bowl history and helped his team take down arguably the greatest HB and player combo in sports. No other QB can say he went up against hoodie in the Super Bowl and came out the winning side. Eli did it TWICE.

Give respect where it was earned. Absolutely disgraceful to the fan base to be behaving this way.

I guess all the other guys didn't do anything. Your argument is absurd.

Especially considering your arguments against Dak.

Be consistent.

I didn't say the other guys didn't do anything, I said he helped. Because he did.

Do you understand how tough that throw was to make? Forget the Tyree catch, this is pinpoint accuracy on the biggest stage in football against one of the toughest teams to ever step on the field.

Show. Some. Respect.

The guy has 2 Super Bowl rings by making great throws in big moments - this doesn't even take away the fact that that year he was the most clutch QB in the league. Of course he had help, no one would or should deny that. Doesn't take away he needed to make big plays and he did.

Outside of some warped and old school rival nonsense, there is no argument for why anyone should not give Manning his due credit.

He made A great throw. It takes A LOT more than that to have a good game, let alone be a good/great QB.

He was mediocre. Deal with it.

His team winning awards him no points.

Sure he had some mediocre seasons, but he elevated his play when it mattered....

....you know, like Aikman did. Which people here constantly defend, despite Aikman having 5 mediocre to awful seasons out of his 10 year career.

No, his norm was mediocre with a couple of good years. He had a few good playoff games mixed into mostly mediocre and poor performances. He didn't elevate his play. He was exactly how he always was.

"He didn't elevate his play"

LOL

In 2011, his playoff run, he had 9 TDs to 1 INT for a 103.8 rating. In 2007 playoffs, he had 6 TDs to 1 INT for a 95.7 rating. He elevated his play and got two Super Bowl rings.

This is embarrassing. Just stop, man.

Especially NOT the QB. Especially the defense, more specifically the pass rush.

He does not deserve much respect. He has always been a mediocre QB and nothing more.

The SB argument is dumb. It's dumb for every QB. He didn't beat anyone. The NY Giants did.
The "Superbowl" argument is used by the hall of fame, football historians, sports commenters as one of the main ways to evaluate a quarterback. Not just fans. Otherwise Payton would probably be thought of as better than Brady. But he isn't by virtually anyone (except maybe you).

So it's one thing to behave arrogantly about your opinion (as you do), and another to be so pathetically unaware of your own limitations (as you are) that you would dismiss criteria used by the vast majority of ppl who comment on the nfl at all levels.

Btw- 50k yards and two Superbowl mvps is getting him in the hall of fame, whatever you may think you know, or whatever you may feel.

Just because others do something doesn't make it good or well reasoned. The simple fact is the kind of logic that supports the idea of using Superbowls as a measure can be ripped to shreds. There is simply an overwhelming amount of evidence that counters it, and an abundance of contradictions that are created by using it.

I will not choose to not do something poorly reasoned just because others do. It does not mean I am not fully aware that others do it.

Btw, the HoF is the media. It's not some bastion of football wisdom.

All this means is that the giants will get the next Carson Wentz and we will still be stuck with the clapper.

Half a Wentz, maybe but yeah...the Giants are about to add a QB in the spring infinitely more talented than what we have. People can laugh at them all they want. I'd trade places in a second.

Geno Smith, l smile every time l think about it. First he is stepping in to replace a very popular QB that was dumped by an unpopular HC and has no OL,RB or healthy receivers!! Top that off by knowing he is a bum. Talk about set up to fail. What are the Giants thinking about. Can not wait for the Cowboys to get a shot a Geno.
