I hate the idea of WR in round one. for every andre Johnson there are 5 Williams, Williamsons, Rogers, Robinsons, Mithcell or Terrells.

That is very true. I think the first round is the worst time to take a WR because there are so many great "prospects" but they just can't adjust to the pro game.

Obviously CJ is the top dog in this discussion. Equally obviouse to me is that we will never have an opportunity to get him. However, after him, I like Ginn. He is not as polished as some of the others but you can not teach what he can do. I think that if you put Ginn together with Glenn, you have a player who's potential is the sky and maybe the only player in the NFL that can teach Ginn what he needs to understand about being a great player. Then, I probably like Meachem. He is risky because he really only has one years worth of productivity but the natural ability is there. The work ethic is there. The desire to be better is there so it's really only a matter of time before he becomes great IMO. Then probably Jarrett, then Bowe. I see these two as basically the same players. After that probably Sidney Rice and Rice probably has more upside to him then Jarrett or Bowe. JMO.

are we saying Receivers we want or receivers that we want and think we could actually get?

also if Sidney Rice for some reason was there for us in the second round and we didn't go WR the first round I'd like that move too.

Huh? Never know?

6'2", 214 at 4.39 at the Combine.

vs.

5'11", 178 at 4.35 at OSU Pro Day.

Ginn is falling on most boards, Meacham is rising.

I do not believe there is a faster WR in this draft then Ginn. If Ginn were completely healthy, I think he would have shown that but at this point, it's water under the bridge. However, the NFL Profile does list Ginn's times as the following:

Campus: 4.28 in the 40-yard dash … 250-pound bench press … 34½-inch vertical jump … 31¼-inch arm length … 9 1/8-inch hands.

Meachem's are listed as follows:

Campus: 4.48 in the 40-yard dash … 37½-inch vertical jump … 345-pound bench press.

Now, to me, Meachem is plenty fast so I really have no issue with him as our pick. However, I do believe that Ginn is the guy who has the kind of speed that makes DCs respect him with help over the top. That's a very valuable thing to have as an offense. What you have to do is project him into our offense with TO and Glenn and then see how it looks. I don't think we could really go wrong either way but I believe that at least early in each players career, Ginn is the guy who could probably have the bigger impact on our offense sooner. JMO.

Interesting since Robert Meacham was bigger and faster.

Ill give you the height as Ginn might be a little over 5'11. Meacham is a physical specimen but you line the up in a race and there is no way Meacham beats Ginn in a race. Ginn has way too much straight line speed to be beat by anyone in college football.

Ginn, if he is smart wont run because of his foot. He has same issue that Deuce Staley had but hopefully for him not as serious. All you have to do is put on game tape and watch him pull away from everybody (and not by steps but yards) and you can simply see that his speed is world class.

Again Meachem will be good but Ginn is a gamebreaker.

Wouldn't that make Ginn faster than Meachem?

Don't get me wrong, I would much rather have Meachem. But the one thing that Ginn has going for him, even more than so than CJ and Meachem, is speed.

Ginn didn't run at the OSU pro day. He was in a cast and/or walking boot up until late February to early March because of the injury he sustained in the BCS Championship game. That's why he's falling. It's not really his fault, but I don't think he could possibly be ready to run at 100% in a matter of weeks after getting the boot/cast off.
