The former top ten pick lol.

Remember how they were rippin" Miami for not taking Brady Quin at 9 and they took Ginn. Ironically, looks like BOTH would have been poor choices!

Ginn sucks. I would have been pissed had we traded for him.

Also, Crayton is a solid returner, but we could definitely improve at his punt returner spot.

Really?? One of those Free could have ran back. It was like everyone ran to the sidelines except for Crayton. If Crayton is such a great returner, than why is DeCamillis trying Ogletree out there?

How do you know Ginn's returns werent the "parting the red sea" variety?

Also, has TC started yet? I'm sure they'll try a variety of people at punt returner. Nothing wrong with trying to improve.

On the other hand, Ginn "the great returner" was just given away by a team who's run by people who place a premium on special teams.

IIRC he had 1 return that was awesome and mostly his doing. He was moving and shaking guys like nobodies business.

Dolphins trade Ginn to 49ers
Miami, FL (Sports Network) - The Miami Dolphins have reportedly traded wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. to the San Francisco 49ers for a fifth-round pick in the 2010 draft.

The Miami Herald cited a text message from a team source in reporting the trade, in which the Dolphins acquired pick No. 145 overall. The paper also reported Ginn has told friends and teammates he has been traded, and that the deal will not be finalized until Ginn passes a physical.

The trade comes on the heels of Miami's acquisition of wide receiver Brandon Marshall from Denver on Wednesday. Marshall has recorded at least 100 receptions and 1,000 yards in each of the last three seasons, and represents an upgrade at the position over Ginn, a former first-round pick.

Ginn was selected ninth overall in the 2007 draft and had his best season in 2008, when he recorded 56 receptions for 790 yards and two touchdowns. However, in 2009 he regressed despite again playing in all 16 games, posting 38 catches for 454 yards and one score.

Over 48 career games, Ginn has 128 catches for 1,664 yards and five touchdowns. He has also recorded 124 rushing yards and two touchdowns, as well as a kick return average of 23 yards.

The former Ohio State star's top moment of 2009 came when he returned two kickoffs for touchdowns -- one for 100 yards and the other for 101 yards -- in a November 1 game against the Jets.

Why are people saying Ginn is a good punt returner? He was not even the main punt return guy in Miami.

In three years he has returned 36 punts for 312 yards for an average of 8.67 yards per return.

Last year Crayton had 36 punt retruns for 437 yards for an average of 12.14 yards per return. Even if you took out Crayton's long return of 82 yards he would still have more punt return yards in one season than Ginn has amassed in 3 years.

I am all for improving any position that Dallas can. I just don't think Ginn is an upgrade as a punt returner or wide receiver.

Ted Ginn would have been a waist of space! We dont need a project wr who has been in the league for 3 yrs now! If we need a return guy we can address that in the draft!

New Slogan for '10

We're the Dallas Cowboys, we RUE all.

Lords have mercy how did this team make it to the playoffs. Good thing we benefited from everything that went our way.

Times up, we're over this.

I hear Jerrah is considering moving the Cowboys to the Arena Football League because he's just about giving up trying to compete in the NFL.

He's also rumored to rehire Parcells as the headcoach once the move is completed.

Crayton had two td returns last yr and almost nobody in this forum gives him credit for it, why should it be any different with Ted Ginn? I know the answer by the way.

Ginn's a total waste of roster space and has no ability to play a useful role in a teams offense.

Parcells, Ireland and Sparano are laughing their butts off over this.

Crayton doesn't deserve full credit for them. Credit goes to the ST coach and Newman. The addition of a lead blocker changes the play just like it changes a rushing play. As a defense, you account for every gap, but add in a lead blocker and an "extra" gap is created that you must defend. The same goes for special teams. They account for every lane, but add in a lead blocker and an "extra" lane is opened. Voila, good returns.

If I were to make a pre-season prediction about punt returns, teams will start copying what we did because it worked.

Ted Ginn served a valuable purpose for Dallas - he allowed us to trade with the Browns who wanted Quinn.

Giving anyone, any picks, for Ted Ginn is an enormous mistake. Sorry SF.
