I have been a total goof on the first 3 weeks. For the first time I am going to put who I think the best 5 teams and worst 5 teams really are.
Many will not agree with my lists. That is fine. I think some teams look good and aren't that good. I think some teams look bad and aren't that bad.
1. Packers. You have to go after Rodgers hard.
2. Patriots. Efficient without being careless.
3. Colts. A 59 yard FG is a fluke. They are tough.
4. Cowboys. Yes, I am serious. They can't shoot themselves in the foot though.
5. Saints. They are winning ugly. That won't last, they will dominate soon.
28. Lions. They could be 2-2 but they find ways to lose.
29. Cardinals. How they have 2 wins is a mystery. They suck.
30. Panthers. Now they've lost Steve Smith possibly? Awful.
31. 49ers. It shocks me to say this. I thought they had a great chance this year, but they suck.
32. Bills. Gag a maggot on a gut wagon.
I think it's good you were kind of a goof the first three weeks. It's too early to tell then anyways. It still kind of is, but we're starting to see some things regarding the NFL.
As far as your picks, I like how you don't just pick the teams with the best records, you pick the teams who are actually GOOD at football. I think many of us know but don't always realize there is a big difference, although the wins and losses are all that matter.
However I can't agree with that five. Mine are:
1. Green Bay -- Rodgers has become an elite quarterback, and their defense can be scary good. Like us though, they have to stop with the penalties and mistakes.
2. Pitt -- Their defense is absolutely unreal, and when Big Ben gets back that offense will really take off. Watch our for Mike Wallace, he is going to light things up once Ben gets back. He can really do some things out there. He's better than Santonio Holmes ever was in Pittsburgh.
3. Baltimore -- Flacco is emerging and finally Baltimore has some real threats at wide out. Their defense will still carry them though, even with major decencies at DB.
4. New England -- Their defense is the question mark, and you can never ever count out a Belichick coached defense. I'm not a "fan" of the guy, but I respect the hell out of what he does as a coach. Easily top three of all time in my opinion and arguably the best. IMO that cheating stuff is blown out of proportion. They also still have the most dangerous passing attack in the league.
5. Dallas -- The question here is do we stop beating ourselves consistantly. I don't know. I think we can, but this team has never, and I mean never shown us that they can consistantly stop beating themselves. Not to mention the fact that they might be the worst front-runners in the league. They play best backed into a corner with a me against the world mentallity. It is Wade's job to foster that mentality, because when this team plays to their potential, I'd move them up from 5 to number 2. Maybe even number one. They're that good, and I think all of us know it.
