Hos has been taking everyone's 5's for a couple of months now........wonder how cash much he has pulled in.
I spent it all on electrolysis for BP, Cher tickets for yeager, and fixing Winky's snow cone machine.

I am all about helping out my pals.

They are defending champions. The Cowboys played a couple of VERY sloppy games too. They also didn't have arguably the best defensive player at times. The reason they are top 5 in my opinion is because we see that the same defense that carried them last year is still there. With the defense they have you likely won't see a high-powered team like the Vikings or Colts or Saints put up huge numbers and high scores. They excel at destroying a QB's confidence and stopping the run. As long as they do that you have to account for that factor.
It just so happens they have a good offense too.

Having said that, I hate them and hope they go to the SB vs Dallas and lose. :D

The defending champ thing is one reason to leave them out of a top 5.
Super Bowl hangover seems to be very real and the Steelers are hardly immune to it.

In 2005 they won the Super Bowl but didn't win a playoff game again until last year.

The Steelers remaining schedule will test them for sure. They get Denver this week in Denver.

I think the Cowboys are capable of beating any of the top 5 teams in the league....but I'm not ready to put them there until they show that we're actually seeing some consistency rather than a hot streak.

The Saints are good...but I think we saw last night that they can be beaten. They narrowly escaped last night's game with a win against a team that we thoroughly dominated.

The Patriots are getting back into form.

Minnesota is impressive right now...but I fully expect them to fall off a bit. Farve is old and Peterson is an injury waiting to happen. If they last the whole season at that level it would be a miracle. For them.

Peyton Manning is a machine. I used to hate the guy, and call him overrated, but watching him guide a football team is something that our generation should truly pay attention to. He's a very special player. Funnier than hell too.

...i don't see the Colts at number one...they have only one quality win [vs. Arizona] this year and the run defense was in full retreat against the 49ers...they had to resort to trickeration to win that game...i don't care if Manning is the quarterback...Brees is having as good a year...

...New Orleans has more quality wins [NYG,PHI and Atl] and have played a tougher schedule...they are number one on the Defensive Hog Index and number two on the Offensive Hog Index...this team is for real...the additions of Greer and Sharper have solidified a once maligned secondary...Ellis and Fujita are out with injury right now so they are less than 100% on defense...yes they almost screwed the pooch down in Miami...but...they did'nt...complacency will be their biggest opponent from here on in...NE and Dallas will pose the biggest challenges for them down the stretch but they get them both at home...
