I understand the frustration with this draft to some extent. Especially as it happens and you are first guessing along.

The issue lies then in how people can cry for days afterwards as if they really have a clue about these players.

I was pretty well ticked off when we lost points in the trade down and then selected a reach. Was further annoyed by a TE in r2. Again? Holy cow.

But I saw the rest of the draft fall pretty friggin strong for this team. And it looked like they had a very real plan when you review it all.

So tell me your A+ or solid A re-draft.

If you would please follow these very simply rules.
Player has to be there at the pick.. i.e. you can;t take Frederick at 47.
No virtual trades so either keep the trade we made or reverse it.

I'll give this a shot myself, fwiw.

Without taking the time to look through every player that was available, I would have stayed at 19 and taken pugh or floyd. I wouldn't have taken a tight end in the 2nd round, and I wouldn't have taken a safety who is as raw as this kid is.

adding here if you don't mind...

18- Stay put and draft Shariff Floyd. Should have been a no brainer in my opinion.

47- Larry Warford- If we took Frederick at 31 I would say its pretty safe to say we won't be running a full on ZBS. Warford is one of the better guys at the LOS in this draft.

80- Brian Schwenke- A lot of scouts were just has high on Schwenke as Frederick. Value is great here.

114- Phillip Thomas- Was my 2nd favorite S in the class. 4th is great value.

151- Joseph Randle- Love this pick. Wouldn't change it.

185- Cobi Hamilton- Big bodied guy with athleticism and upside.

pretty easy list to read here

hard to gauge your draft success with 1 pick....

i will say Pugh was rated as low as Frederick by cbs and has short arms so is an ot they think has to shift inside. pretty big reach at 18 on every board i saw. but fair move and you don't lose points on the trade down.

Rd 1- I'm keeping the trade.
Travis Frederick

Rd 2- sorry Gavin. One more big nasty.
Larry Warford

Rd 3- I don't mind the TWill pick. Future stud.
Terence Williams

Rd 3- really like JJ and I think he can succeed but I'm fixing this OL.
Brian Swencke

Rd 4- instead of a 4th corner I'm going with a potentially starting center fielder
Phillip Thomas

Rd 5- love the Randle pick.
Joseph Randle

Rd 6- like Davonte a lot... Like Reddick better.
Kevin Reddick

I tried to keep it as realistic as possible and not change every pick.

If it is true that the dline coaches are telling the GM that Floyd is not the guy then I don't see how you take him. If that is apocryphal, then I'd take Floyd.

So:
1) Floyd
2) Warford
3) Damontre Moore
4) Phillip Thomas
5) Joe Randle
6) Holoman

I thought this was the best 3rd day cowboy draft in years. Cornelius Washington would have interested me at 6.

without knowing the picks later on and trying to be honest:

18. stay put, take Floyd, DT
47. DJ Swearinger -- 3rd rounder on my board but player I like best.
80. Brennan Williams -- not a huge fan of value here but I can't face the fans without an OL through 3 rounds.
114. Khaled Holmes, OC. No where near as good as Frederick but best of options along the lines imho.
151. Joseph Randle, RB. Might have went RB in round 4. Good players on the board at RB imho.
185. Michael Williams TE. Pure blocker.

That would leave us awfully thin at safety though so

7. Kenny Vaccaro

I was just going for smash mouth you'll never have time to throw at the safety picks.

But I guess if you think he's worth trading back into the 7th we could do that.
