Zeke gutted it out instead of tapping out. He could have stayed on the bench, but kept playing...I know the local capologists will attack this, but I'm talking football.....I'll leave the cap and money to the FO. If any of you are willing to take a paycut or work for less than you can get, then go ahead and complain.....if not, shhhh....
I like Zekes game...he may not have much time left and the fact that he played hard in a blow out loss, while injured.....that's a football player!

Amen brother.. I'm sure even the Zeke haters noticed that he again got a dumpoff 4-5 shy of the first down and basically just punked the db who came up and tried to keep him from converting. I thought for a second that might energize the team and get them going but they just went right back to sleep walking ... Dude plays hard every time he's out there.. His paycheck is no concern of mine.. I don't pay it.

Agreed, Zeke is a warrior.

That said, did anybody else wonder what MM was doing having Zeke in there hurt still running it when the game was basically over in the late 3rd and then 4th quarters?

Football players play football man. I guarantee you they would have had to hide his helmet to keep Zeke from going back in there. As long as it was just a ding he was GOING to play through it. They said it was a knee contusion which basically means he has a cut/bruise on it and it hurts when it gets hit .. But it doesn't stop him from playing and it is not at risk of further injury. Pain is the eternal companion of football players..

Zeke played tough, but he's still overpaid just like several others are as well. Better believe we have to worry about how it affects the salary cap since it will affect the team this upcoming offseason. 21+ players are expected to become free agents, many of them are starters and key players, good luck trying to keep a playoff capable team intact just because you choose to overpay a handful of players.

I’ll always think he’s a POS for his holdout.

How do you feel about Emmitt?

It's a business and he made a business decision for himself based on how he knew Jerry would react

I didn't like it either but it's done and he's playing like a complete top 5 rb worthy of his contract

It wasn’t like Emmett shoulder injury. But you’re right. Lol we may never see your performance like that again

This is the best I’ve seen Elliott play. He finally become a football player. I don’t know where he was his first three seasons. Probably under someone’s sweater

Does the blocking ever come into the equation?

Nope.. the fact that there was a free runner in the backfield right when made his cut does not matter.. He's just supposed to create magic.. because of the size of his paycheck.. That's the only thing that matters.. <~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ dripping with sarcasm. The thing you notice on that play is that it starts right and at 52, 63 and 71 both get knocked back. Zack Martin was the only one who moved his man. The play starts off tackle right but because Collins lost and Biadasz was knocked back Zeke tries to cut it back and the safety is there to wrap him up before he gets going. Denver basically moved three of our linemen back 2 yards at the snap of the ball. The play was doomed from that point. The only chance we might have had for success would have been for Zeke to hit it quicker and get in behind Martin.. but it's hard to say if he could have gotten there because Biadasz is in his lap immediately. It was a sign of things to come. And really a continuation of this season. We do not have enough power players on the line so we are not nearly as good in short yardage as we should be. Denver won the line of scrimmage on that play.. and pretty much all day.

Look at this.. here is when Zeke takes the handoff. Notice where Williams, Biadasz and Collins feet are.. Almost on the 40 yard line.. The line of scrimmage as you can see it the Denver 37. So they have given up almost 3 yards by the time Zeke gets the ball.

The thing I don't like about this play is that nobody is drive blocking. We don't fire out we just stand up and slide to the right. Which would be okay if we weren't getting pushed back in the process. I can see here why Zeke cut it back because the backside guys were at least at a stalemate at the line of scrimmage.. But he fails to see the safety, who was unblocked filling. THis is also bad play design because the receiver at the top, I think it was Cooper could have just stood there next to Collins and allowed Zeke a huge lane to the outside.. Instead he goes out to get the safety. That's a good play in a regular situation but in short yardage who cares about blocking somebody 8 yards off the ball?

After Zeke got that bruised knee there was little good he was going to do for this team. I too applaud his grit and effort but he should not have re-entered the game. Pollard can play as a solo RB if he has to. I consider this a failure of coaching not on Zeke. Zeke is a warrior!

agreed. except with the pay cut or whatever logic. people were mad that he jumped the line when we were already strapped, held out, and then came back and started sluggish. very very easy to take issue with that.
