Zeke gutted it out instead of tapping out. He could have stayed on the bench, but kept playing...I know the local capologists will attack this, but I'm talking football.....I'll leave the cap and money to the FO. If any of you are willing to take a paycut or work for less than you can get, then go ahead and complain.....if not, shhhh....
I like Zekes game...he may not have much time left and the fact that he played hard in a blow out loss, while injured.....that's a football player!

I think its more selfishness to be honest. Doesnt want Pollard to get his. He is scared that Pollard will make him look bad.

And Zeke sucked by the way. He was part of the problem. I give him ZERO credit. He deserves NONE.

So you think it’s Zeke’s call to say ‘this game is over, I’m done for the day. Send Pollard in?”

This is the best I’ve seen Elliott play. He finally become a football player. I don’t know where he was his first three seasons. Probably under someone’s sweater

it’s pretty simply really. Tony Pollard is the best thing that could’ve happened to Zeke.

For the first time in his football life he felt pushed. It didn’t matter that everybody knows he’s the better player than Pollard but he could feel the footsteps and he heard the whispers and I felt the last couple of years he was mailing it in. Not this year.

Zeke (like all of us) needed a kick in his complacency and he got one and now he’s playing up to his potential.

He sucked. A few garbage time runs at the end dont change that. We really needed Zeke last week and this week and he took a dump. The guy isnt worth about 7 million per year if that.

If Zeke is the better runner, then why does Pollard have better averages? You simply cant run away from the truth. Watching the two run is like night and day.

I'm pretty sure Zeke averaged 5 ypc in the first half too. They just didn't run it enough.. Hell they didn't really have the ball enough to do much of anything.

I would like to see you prove that one. And certainly on short yardage situations he didnt do his job. They didnt run the ball a lot because it wasnt working.

2 horrible games in a row for your hero. When we needed him the most. Sad actually.

All a team has to do is stack the middle and the "i cant bounce it outside" Zeke is neutered.

All they had to do was ask CowboyRoy and I would have told them the obvious.

Roy I’m not disagreeing with you.

I think Pollard is the better runner but I think Zeke blocking gives him a slight edge as an overall better player. I like everything about Tony and I have never been a fan of Zeke’s petulance and sense of entitlement although I think he has matured.

Roy this can’t be a serious post. My guy read this out loud.

Hmmm.. Pollard probably has better averages because he's getting the ball on the jet sweep for about 20% of his carries.. Basically it's a receiver end around and oh by the way, when he takes that handoff the defense is generally looking at Zeke.. enabling Pollard to get to the second level unmolested on those plays. It's not really rocket surgery.. It's the same reason wide receivers and Qbs generally have a better averages. Most of their runs are basically open field runs. Workhorse backs don't have that luxury. They have to get theirs up the gut for the most part. But you already knew that..

Zeke deserves props for playing hard, having a much improved YPC, and not fumbling. He also has to wear those failed short yardage conversions though and there’s been a lot.

What I didn't like about it is that it was a read play.. You can tell by the way the line came off the ball and slide stepped instead of firing out. That meant that Zeke was supposed to read the hole and cut to daylight. Except what do you do when there is none? I always preferred fire off the ball plays in short yardage. Get under your man and drive him and let the RB either cut if a hole opens or join the push party if it doesn't. If they run a power play instead of a finesse play Zeke runs into the back of Martin and together they grind out the first down. But it all comes back to not having enough power blockers in the game for the situation. Steele, Williams and Biadasz are all going to lose as many as they win in mano a mano situations. And frankly it looked like Collins lost on his block too. 1 out of 5 guys won on that play.. That equals a TFL every time.
Unfortunately, our OL has declined with injuries & talent.....miss the days of great ones we had...Allen, Williams, Tuinei, Grogan, etc......and Stepnoski to prove technique wins over bulk at the C. And we are finesse team now.

he tried to hang in there and help out his boyfriend, even he couldn't snap shell shock of the fear that he had. All you had to do was look at him on the bench, bugged-eyed. Where was the leader? no fist-bumping, just wallowing in self-pity and fear.

Okay you asked.. In the first half Zeke had 6 carries for 27 yards.. 4.5 yards per carry. Just as a bonus I thought I would include your love child Tony Pollard's numbers.. He had a robust 11 yards on 4 carries.. Or 2.75 yards per carry for the math impaired. Yeah sign me up for more of that.. So he was less effective than that bum Zeke.. but he should have gotten the ball more.. I suppose in someone's twisted mind that logic makes sense.. But it doesn't make any sense to me. The run game was working fine when Zeke was running.. It was Pollard who bogged it down.. By the way I'm glad you brought up the last two games because they're very interesting numbers wise for your claim that Pollard should be getting more touches.. In the last two games he has amassed 37 yards on 11 carries.. Just tearin it up right.. In those same two games, the guy you want him to replace has 101 yards on 26 carries. "Way to cherry pick, Ronnie.." Okay you got me.. Let's go back three games.. I mean New England really held Zeke in check right.. Add that game and Pollard goes to 78 yards on 21 carries. 3.7 ypc . Meanwhile Zeke goes up to 170 yards on 38 carries. 4.47 ypc. Should I continue.. Since the nice game he had in San Diego Pollard has kinda come back to Earth. His ypc average has gone from 8.48 in that game to 5.45, 6.70 then 5.36, 4.1, 3.7 then 2.75. That's a pretty steady decline over the last 4 weeks which if Zeke was doing yall would be killin him for and calling for Pollard.

People who whine about a guy wanting to stay in the game despite the outcome already being determined probably never played competitive sports.. At least not at any high level. Competitors want to finish.. Good, bad or indifferent, no true competitor ever wants to just throw in the towel. To me it's a quality to be applauded.
