Dak didn't look good in the second and third quarters against Detroit, and he should have been sacked on the long TD of the guy didn't whiff for some weird reason.

That will be a battle. The Lions aren't intimidated at all to come here again.
the pressure will be on both qb's in the playoffs. We will see if Goff can handle it.

You’ve trashed him hard in the past. You think you can just slime your way back on the Dak’s good train? Get real.
I’m not trying to get on anyone’s train. I don’t take back a single thing I’ve posted here about Dak.

Pretty sure the title said giving credit where it’s due. I don’t hate the guy, or hope he fails, I just haven’t seen his performances equal his contract, and I would have moved on years ago.

I am giving him credit for having a good game.

Nothing more to read into it than that.

There are typically only 3-4 Superbowl calibre teams max once the play offs are off and running. So to fail three years on the spin would be quite an achievement.

This year there are four - the Ravens, Bills, 49ers and Cowboys. Rams have some nice strengths but they have too many holes to fill whilst the Lions are at the start of building their Superbowl roster - they could have one big performance in them but they aren't strong enough to beat three of the above four blue chip teams at this stage. The Browns have a lot of qualities but the Ravens will be too strong for them.
I agree with your top 4. The Rams, Lions, and Browns are capable of knocking off any top team, but I can't see any of them stringing together three wins just to get to the Super Bowl.

That will take quite a bit. He’s got years to undo, and still needs to deliver post season consistency. One or two games won’t charge that.
Yep, I did not put a time frame on it.
It will take a period of sustained success.
Longer for some fans, and I totally get it

It’s no secret in no big fan of Dak, but I will admit that yesterday he played a great game, and I think it’s one of his best. Not stat wise, but in delivering when it mattered. His touch seemed better ever, and I liked him looking off his receivers and confusing the secondary. That’s the guy I want to see play.

Good to see the team elevated going into a home advantage scenario. Now he needs to keep that momentum going because that’s where he’s fallen short in the past.

Spotlight is on, let’s see what he does post season.
I know it's hard to be perfect, but I'd like to see him hit on a couple of end-zone overthrows he's made the last couple of games to Cooks, where Cooks had beaten the coverage. (The latest one was on the field-goal drive in the fourth Sunday. We didn't need the points, but you'd like to see that connection made.)

He had a great game.

I loved his high and out passes that lets the receiver keep momentum and going UP and OUT to get it. Not reach behind or down.

Loved the touch to Cooks in the endzone.

Lets be honest he's not really excelled in those areas.

When I looked at the stats I couldn't believe it. He had a FAR better game then even these good stats say.

There's no shame in your stance. If Dak had played like this the last few years, you certainly wouldn't be making this thread now.

SO what now? Just keep it up Dak. Now is your chance. You got it going on so just settle in and do what we now KNOW you can do.

(I know, others will say "I knew it all along ya not-a-fan". So be it. Everyone has their opinions. )

He’s played better than Mahomes, Allen, Purdy, Jackson and everyone else in the NFL this year arguably. So you obviously have no clue slick.

If 3 twelve win seasons in a row isn't a model of consistent success I don't know what is. I understand people's frustration with not going further in the playoffs but it's so hard to do and the Cowboys have been so close. I'd rather the Cowboys have a chance to win it all than not even have a chance at all. I want them to win the SB more than anything but I won't allow myself to not be grateful for how well the team has been recently and will continue to be. I support the Cowboys no matter what happens.

I'm rooting for Dak. I want the Lombardi back in Dallas where it belongs. If Dak can do that, then he can join the ranks of Staubach and Aikman. If he can't, then he joins Tony Romo, and hopefully Danny White & Morton (almost forgot Morton). I've been on the fence on Dak since the last playoffs. No one played good last year. BUT, Dak didn't either, and that left me discouraged.

This year, we've won a lot of games BECAUSE of Dak. CD Lamb, too. We need some more heroes to emerge this post season. Time for Parsons to truly blow up entire games. Time for Pollard to make us forget he was ever injured. Time for those guys we've been hopeful for to make names for themselves. They need to write a history for themselves (and us) that includes that 6th ring. Dak has looked the part. He really has. Anyone saying otherwise is delusional. I desperately hope it continues.

I want to believe SOOO badly.

I think a lot of Cowboys fans underrate Dak. And I understand why. But he had a really good year this year. He kept the bad games to a minimum and did some really good things. His 36 to 9 TD to INT ratio is phenomenal. And let's face it, his offensive line has not been that great this year.

But at the same time, I am not going to let that drubbing of the Commanders cloud my judgement. The Commanders were playing some scrubs on defense, and they are a terrible team, on both sides of the ball. The Cowboys made mistakes yesterday that against good teams would have hurt them badly. It's great they did not repeat what they did last year, but I think the defense needs to be better against the teams they will be facing in the playoffs.
I challenge you to find me a single team that doesn't make mistakes.

Even the vaunted 49ers went on a 3 game losing streak.

That's a low hanging fruit take, no offense, but it just is.

Against the Rams we gave up 20 points.
Against the Lions gave up 19 points
Eagles at home gave up 13 At Philly gave up 28 but D made 3 stops in a row to give O a chance at the end.

I'd say other than San Fran, which was on the road, we have shown the ability to make plays defensively to give us a strong chance, especially against anyone we will meet before the Championship game particularly at home.

Man the Strawmen you create.

Now he has to "look good" all 4 quarters?
He looked bad, and if not for a really strange whiff in a sack, it works have been three quarters.

But put your pom poms back over your eyes. It's easier that way.

The thing that kills me about some of the posters on this forum is that it's always the "Next" game that's going to define Dak. The goalpost never stops moving.

Ok, mister brain, explain what happened against Buffalo and San Fran.

You know, the games that actually matter.
