Glad Doug Free hurt Reed Doughty and not Miles Austin

One problem with drafting a LT next draft is that we will be way up there in at least the 20's. And really do not want to spend other picks to move up. So I am looking at LTs that might be coming out that will not be top 10-15. There are a few that I hope Jerruh might decide to finally take the plunge on.

Doug Free should have been credited w/a FF on that play. He's been crushing people regularly since becoming a starter though.

No, I can't see them moving up either.

Nor would I want them to.

There will be guys available late in the first round or even the 2nd who have some talent. They might come from smaller schools or not measure out as well as the top 3-4 tackles but there will be some.

The other option would be to pick up a legit top flight guard or even center (if there is one) towards the end of round one and then grab a more project OT in either round 2 or 3.

This is a better option. I personally think that we already have 4 starting caliber tackles on the roster in Free, Columbo, Davis and Flo. Gurode is okay at center. Kosier is okay at guard. Bigg is feast or famine at guard and I think this hurts our consistency.

I think Free is our best option at LT next year. I think Bigg is actually a better RT than Columbo and is not as immobile as some think. His lack of quick one-step quickness hurts him more at guard then it does at tackle where his long arms and more indirect path to the QB give him more of a chance to recover. Regardless, we are more than okay at find two quality starters out of those four.

I do think the interior could use some serious upgrading where I think we have only 3 okay starters. This is why our run game fails so much. We need more consistency here. I think this bunch could definitely use an elite player hopefully found with our first round pick. It may even be possible to trade back a bit and find a great guard.

This and ILB are our most obvious areas of weakness. I would like all 3 picks focused here if possible.

Bigg is a better guard then tackle as most everyone has now realized. But you have to keep a fire lit under him or he gets lazy.
