Going All In

2017 could be our season but may need to sacrifice 2018 draft to truly contend right now:

-2018 1st Rounder and Tank Lawrence for JJ Watt OR Jadaveon Clowney (Texans can't pay two D players max QB money AND pay Deandre Hopkins too)

-2018 2nd Rounder for Joe Thomas (keep Lael at LG, make OL beyond dominant)

-2018 4th Rounder and Ty Crawford for Shelden Richardson

-Orlando Scandrick, Brice Butler and Alfred Morris for Josh Gordon, Ty Holmes & 2018 6th Rounder

-Bring back Demarcus Ware from retirement as situational pass rusher, player-coach

Sorry, I stopped reading when I got to the part about trading DLAW and his gimp back along with our first next year for Watt or Clowney.

Houston would laugh in your face if you called them up and offered them that trade, I know I would if I was them.

The Texans would not laugh unless they"re clueless.

A 1st for Clowney would be a consideration for them.

Clowney:
Injury prone.
1 really good year.
1 cheap year remaining on contact.
Under contract for 2018 but near full price.

Dlaw would just be a throw in.

It's a story, not because it isn't true, but because you are hiding behind it. You still haven't answered the question: why haven't any of the 32 NFL front offices used such transactions to "go all in"?

Hiding behind it? I'm the one who brought it up. And the other teams aren't doing what Elway did the last few years either, does that make him a pioneer or a kook? 2 Super Bowls appearances and 1 championship ring in 5 years, guess what my answer would be.

Yes, hiding. You wanted Dallas to trade away an multiple draft choices for a SB run. Elway added FA players, but did not come close to what you suggested.

Outside of NO, please show another team in the last 50 years that made these moves. I even will ignore how none of those trades would be acceptable to the other teams; plus the cap hits with Richardson, Clowney and Thomas would be deadly for both Dallas and the respected teams.

Elway was willing to trade away a first and a 2nd to Browns for Joe Thomas in 2015. Elway balked because Browns kept upping the price. Jets were offering Richardson for a 4th in the last draft. And the Clowney/Watt trade is not just my speculation, cannot take credit for it as it has been brought up several times, even on CZ.
