Count me in as a guy who says Weeden is terrible. But then I look at our schedule and with how things are shaking out its not too bad. The Falcons is a winnable (I think we lose) game. The Giants and Eagles game is obviously winnable with Weeden. Saints and Bucs are very winnable games. The Dolphins, Patriots and Seahawks will be tough games to win. I could honestly see The Weeden Cowboys going 4-3 and I do not think you have to be wearing Blue and Silver colored glasses to see them going 4-3 over the next 7 games.

Falcons: Loss
Saints: Win
Patriots: Loss
Giants: WIn
Seahawks: Loss
Eagles: Win
Bucs: Win
Dolphins: Romo should be back

I would estimate we only need to win 3. That will put us at 5-4, with 6 games left.

We can do this. The Weed man wont let us down!

just keep hoping wash, philly, ny, keep getting beat.

Dallas is going to win the NFC EAST!!! Weeden looks the best I have ever seen him, I think Dallas beats the Falcons and the Saints. If that happens Dallas is 4-0. Now I do feel Dallas will get a Butt Kicking when they play the Patriots, but that will put them at 5-1. Dallas will get back McClain, Hardy, Gregory and the defense gets better !! In the second half of the season they should have Romo and DEZ back, then they go into the playoffs strong and Dallas plays good on the road. What does all this mean ? Dallas is still in the hunt to win the Super Bowl !!! GO COWBOYS !!! :starspin:

Hardy comes back for the Pats game...unleash the kraken that day!

I wholeheartedly believe when Romo and Dez get back we will still have a shot, due in large to the mediocrity of this division. No reason to jump **** just yet, particularly at 2-0.

The division looks so bad, we could still win it. But forget about things like a playoff bye or HFA.

I know the Cowboys won't be as good with Romo not playing, but I think the Cowboys will surprise.

We're 2-0 and missing some absolutely vital players. I've got Cowboys fans around me pushing women and children out of the way as they jump into the lifeboats for the safe waters "giving up on the season" harbor.

I've got no such plans.

I'll be here to watch the team sink or swim until the end of the season, whenever that may come.

I don't think many are jumping ship, but most of us are smart enough to understand that the first mate taking over for our captain is liable to steer us into an iceberg.

I have no faith in Weeden at all.

We're going to do really bad with him at QB.

That said I'll be right there watching the ship sink all the way to the bottom as he sinks us.

We'll do just fine with Weeden.

All he has to do is not lose ball games. Not turn the ball over. Not put the defense in tough situations. Linehan will adjust the play book for him so he's not put in situations where he was to be Tony Romo because we all know he's not.

Our defense looks like it'll be one of the best in the league.

I need to see it against a better offensive unit - like the Falcons

I have long believed Eli is overrated, and Bradford doesn't make anyone forget about Montana (except Sal Palantonio)

Eli may be overrated, but he's still killed us in the past. They still have Odell Beckham Jr. who as we saw last year can take over games single handily just like he did against us.

Philadelphia still has weapons on offense. Darren Sproles, Jordan Matthews, Zach Ertz, and they had no problem moving the ball against Atlanta in Week 1 in the second half.

Yet and still the Cowboys defense shut both offenses down. Gotta give credit where credit is due.

Yeah I could see that happening. I don't think they have to worry about Philly doing much. Philly is over-rated, as expected, and aren't going to do very well.

But I can see the Giants rallying and turning things around because they've done so before with Eli at QB.

Now, granted, they had far better defense then, as opposed to now, so it's going to be much harder for them.

This reasoning blows me everytime I read it. The Giants only turned things around ONE TIME in 2011, when that defense went on a terror into the playoffs. In 2007 they were already a good team they went 10-6, there was no turning anything around. Every single other year that the Giants started terrible they end terrible. Since 2011, they have gone 9-7, 7-9, 6-10, and are off to another 0-2 start. That team is done, period they are done, there is no magical pass rush coming to help them, no magical receivers to make all-time catches and no offensive line to block for the qb. The Giants are a joke right now, that little run with Eli at qb doesn't blind me to the fact that its not happening again.

That is absolute dead last on my list of possible outcomes I think can come out of this whole scenario.

Certainly hope so.

The defense has looked really good so far and if they stay healthy and then we get Hardy, Gregory, and Ro back this defense might do really great.

Fair enough.

Although I'd argue that OBJ can certainly make magical all-time crazy catches. But otherwise fair enough.

The best hope is for the defense to continue its stifling ways, and hope the offense can put up at least 17 points, have the special teams contribute at times and score defensively. The defense will need to hold teams to 13 to 17 points, no small tasking at all.

But we can do this......
I see where you're coming from regarding the defense they have been playing good the last two weeks but with the Falcons, Saints, and Patriots with very good offenses the next three weeks will be a tall order for the defense it will be a challenge that is for sure but I think this defense will be up to the task that is a guarantee now with Weeden, at QB for the time being the OL run blocking will be paramount in which they have been decent at for the last 2 weeks it will have to get much better for this tough stretch coming up and if it can the rest of the offense will take care of it's self and they also have to clean up the penalties as well.

Atlanta lost their leading rusher for a few games with broken ribs, and now it looks like Brees is done with bum shoulder, possibly rotator cuff surgery. Then the bye week so we are looking alright.....

It's going to be a battle, but Garrett is as steady a captain as you'll find for troubled waters, and every couple of weeks we get a new piece added back to the crew.

I'm confident the team has seen enough of Weeden now to know what he can and can't do, and put him in position to succeed. He made some nice throws yesterday and 7-7 in relief of one of the greatest QBs of all time is nothing to dismiss, even against the Charmin-soft coverage of one Byron Maxwell.

It's going to be ugly for sure, but if the team can fight through this and get Romo back with a chance to win the East late in the season, everything else could fall into place for a playoff run.

Sorry guys, just got here... mind if I join you?

I don't disagree but the sheer dominance is encouraging. I can't think of a single player that has been "bad". Even everybody's favorite punching bag, Nick Hayden, looked like an all star. The fact that we are adding 3 more pieces, 2 of which will contribute directly to our pass rush is definitely encouraging.
