Unless two different stats services are both completely wrong, Romo was outstanding on throws of over 30 yards in 2011.

According to Stats Inc, Romo had a 131.25 rating on deep balls, and Elias had Romo at 135.4

A stat on 9 passes completed.

That says it all.

He's actually a very mediocre fantasy QB. Fantasy QB is all about rushing yards and gaudy totals - Romo is all about efficiency.

I really don't think its his arm strength.. he has a pretty good arm. I don't think he has very good touch on the ball to have confidence to fit it in to tight spaces downfield or to hit a guy who is fairly open in stride the majority of the time. It seems he doesn't quite have the ability to hang it up there downfield and let his guy run under it or go get it everytime, so he just doesn't do it often. Part of it is the protection breaking down too often, as well.

You have to factor in that Romo usually is on the run because of the oline. Under the conditions that Romo is usually throwing under, he either doesn't have time for receivers to get deep or he's running and it's not smart to bomb it then.
