____ he got burned in the Washington game or was that someone else's fault too?

Those were Aaron Glenn's fault, not Roy's. Like I said, some people blame Roy when someone else gets burned.

I'm surprised that DeAngelo Hall is leading at CB. He has had some great games and has some interceptions, but he also has gotten torched repeatedly in a lot of other games this season. He is a good CB, but he is far from being the best in the NFC.

Eli Manning leading the voting is an absolute joke!
The Pro Bowl itself is an absolute joke. Hell, bring back the College All Star game.

Aaron Gleen was supposed to cover the tight end? Bull****.

Don't forget that when people go to vote online, it lists the conerbacks' interceptions right next to their name. So a lot of people pick the guys with the most interceptions.

Not to mention that Hall might be the biggest self-promoter in the NFL and has a coach who promotes his players, as well.

Has anyone scored or made a big play on Newman all year long?

I thought you were talking about the first Commanders game. And no, Roy didn't allow any completions this week, let alone a touchdown. Cooley's three touchdowns came against Ware, Barrow and Fujita.

Nope. Nobody has gotten closer than the 13-yard line against him, and the longest catch he has allowed is 23 yards (on a short catch-and-run). He's allowing 2.0 catches for 22.0 yards per game.

AdamJT13 saying not to just look at stats? Amazing.

Sounds like a Pro Bowler to me.

Eli I cant complete more than 50% of my passes Manning?

Laughable.

Eli Manning ranks 10th in the NFC in QB rating and 22nd in the NFL. Seasquawks fans have got to be mad about this one. Hasselbeck has a QB rating over 20 points higher than Manning's.

:lmao2:

AdamJT13 is saying do not look at only interceptions, but also look at the receptions and yards that a wide receiver gives up.

I'm saying to look at more than interceptions for cornerbacks. Unfortunately, the NFL doesn't keep official stats for what cornerbacks allow. If a cornerback gambles a lot and gets eight interceptions but allows 1,500 yards and 12 touchdowns, I wouldn't even want him on my team, let alone put him in the Pro Bowl. But a lot of voters would pick him because of the eight interceptions, with no way of knowing about the 1,500 yards and 12 touchdowns he has allowed.

So there's no way of comparing Newman's 2 catches for 22 yards average against other top corners? I'd be interested in seeing that - and the actual completion pct. on newman.

Newman has a little of the Deon factor. No one throws his way, because the receiver is covered.

Newman has allowed a 44.4-percent completion rate. At some point, I'll break that down by the length of attempt. The majority of the completions he has allowed were thrown less than 10 yards downfield.

And the only place where we might get a comparison against other corners is from KC Joyner, an ESPN Insider columnist. He tracks that kind of thing, among other stuff, but his numbers aren't always perfectly accurate. They give you a pretty good idea, though.

Sorry, but Roy is having the best season of any strong safety in the NFC. He has more big plays than any of them, and he is making them all over the field. Roy is the only defensive back in the past four years to have at least 2.5 sacks, two interceptions and three forced fumbles for turnovers, and he's the first defensive back in at least five years to have all of those plus a defensive touchdown and a fumble recovery.

Roy's biggest competition for the strong safety spot comes from Mike Brown and Michael Lewis. If you add up all of Roy's big plays (sacks, interceptions, forced fumbles for turnovers, fumble recoveries and touchdowns), he has more of them than Brown and Lewis COMBINED (9.5 to 9.0). If Roy doesn't make the Pro Bowl, THAT will be a joke.
thank u!! at leats someone knows

Amazingly, he is looking at the games in order to get those stats. So in essence, he is looking at more than just stats.
