Good Dream?... Andrew Luck

Its hard to imagine a real fan of the Boys hating one of our hard working good players like KJJ does with Tony. Just proves he is no real fan at all.

Constructive criticism isn't hating on someone...grow up! If Romo was perfect like some of you think he is threads like this wouldn't exist.

I haven't said one thing about Romo that hasn't been said by just about every NFL expert out there and they all receive a lot of grief from bias fans like you.

Even critical comments by Aikman and Emmitt regarding Romo has ticked off a few fans who continue being in denial.

Aaron Rodgers leads the Packers to a SB win with an MVP performance and a you have a few BIAS fans here claiming Romo is still the better QB.

Some of us choose to keep it real and tell it like it is while others choose to live in a fantasy world full of denial. To each their own!

Sorry, you lose any credibility when you say Kitna was a major reason for the team turning things around after Red's promotion.

Just like you lose credibility for saying the shower collapse thing was never mentioned. It was mentioned numerous times after that debacle of a game and the shape Romo was in during that presser where he literally had to be helped down from the podium.

If you're gonna knock the guy at least know what the hell you're talking about.

You lose ALL credibility because you just twisted everything I said. LOL

I never said Kitna was a major reason for the team turning things around after Garrett's promotion.

I said it was Wades firing, Garrett's promotion and the tongue lashing Jerry gave the players that was the major reason for the turn around.

Kitna certainly played a part in it completing 65.7% of his passes and tossing 16 TD's in 9 starts but I never said he was the major reason.

As for Romo collapsing in the shower I never said it was never mentioned I said I never heard about it but never argued it didn't happen or that it wasn't reported.

Romo was sacked 16 fewer times than Rodgers in 09 and last season Romo was lost because our FB missed a block.

Roethlisberger and Rodgers have taken bigger beatings the past 2 seasons than Romo.

Go watch Montrae Holland on that hit. It was a delayed blitz, and he had his back turned to the wipe open B gap, just like Leonard Davis is prone to do. The fullback has his blame, but could Kyle Kosier's experience and instincts stopped that hit? Holland had his back turned while helping Gurode.

Cory Proctor nearly got Romo killed multiple times.

See Shaun Rodgers plant him in game one, and the Giants run right through him to hurt his back in the same year.

It's not just sacks. It's hits, and Colombo is a turn style in pass protection.

The Steelers QB holds the football forever. Rodgers has taken hits, but he didn't get broken bones and knocked out for the year.

Edit:

Romo was knocked out three games in 2008 due to break downs in pass protection. Two of the past three years, Romo has been injured and was knocked out for good last year.

People arent allowed to dislike players of their favorite teams?

I don't dislike Romo but when you break down a players game and criticize certain aspects of it a few here take offense and spin it that you dislike the player.

I'm well aware of what things were like before Romo arrived but there comes a point after a number of years that you expect a player to finally take the next step.

When you see a young QB like Rodgers win a SB after only 3 years as a starter critiques of Romo's game are inevitable especially when you have bias fans continue to say he's the better QB of the two.

Some fans here get all upset when Romo isn't listed as one of the top 5 QB's.

They believe if someone doesn't have Romo listed in the top 5 they're a moron.

Some Cowboys fans can't stop being a FAN for one second.

You have fans saying Rodgers got carried to his SB win and that Romo's the better QB.

Fans like that have way too much of a bias to engage in an intelligent football discussion with.

I've had debates with fans who honestly believe Romo is the greatest QB in Cowboy history and they base their belief strictly off his stats.

They believe he's being handicapped by the players around him like he's never played on any good teams. LOL

The bottom line it was a missed block that allowed a defender to run completely untouched to Romo.

He had no chance on that play it was like standing in the way of a runaway truck.

Anytime there's a missed assignment and a defender runs free a QB is going to get plastered. It happens occasionally and it can result in losing your QB for the season as was the case with Romo.

As for Rodgers taking hits but not suffering any broken bones he's suffering concussions which ended up retiring two of the Cowboys greatest QB's.

There's not an injury you can name that's retired more QB's than concussions.

Repeated concussions are a lot more serious than broken collarbones and pinkies because they're brain injuries that can have a lasting affect and can prematurely end a players career.

Romo has missed games due to a couple of freak bone breaks. Anyone who watches Romo knows he doesn't take a lot of violent hits because he's able to avoid defenders and get out of trouble.

Some of the hits he takes are half hits because defenders are aiming for his passing arm trying to strip him of the football.

Some of you need to start paying attention to what happens to other QB's around the league including the one who just won a SB.

They all take hits and unless the NFL adopts a rule prohibiting hits on the QB they will continue taking them.

I dunno about that. I don't remember hear about either of those guys collapsing in the shower after a game.

On the other hand, they've both been concussed I believe. Concussions are worse than broken bones in the long run.

Romo's definitely taken a beating but I wouldn't say a broken collarbone is any sort of indicator of future injury. Neither is a broken finger.

He does need to start protecting himself at all costs though. He's too important to lose. Completely demoralized the team when he went down.

Perfectly stated. Thanks for saving me the time it would have taken to type that.

If you say so.

As for Romo's loss demoralizing the team that lasted for about a half of football the Cowboys went on to play better without him.
Not true.
That was 3 years ago and it wasn't anything serious because it never made news.
I certainly didn't hear anything about it and Romo never missed a snap or showed any sign of being injured during the game
You'd likely refer to him as "fragile" or something to that effect if he had.

I see you weren't a member of the board back then, but still, it was all over the place. Even the blowhards at ESPN had talked about it.
When you really get right down to it, it wasn't Romo's injury that demoralized the team because they were already demoralized at 1-5.
Eh. They may have been 1-5 but they were at least being competitive in those games. IIRC they never lost by more than a TD in either game.

That's really no consolation at all, but when you look at what happened the next 2 1/2 games without him...
The team quit on Wade that's what ultimately caused the debacle in GB.
Once candy *** was fired the team started to respond.
The Cowboys were 1-5 with Romo and ended up a better team with Kitna.
Naturally the change in HC played a big part in the improvement but the fact is the team finished much better than it started.
We somewhat agree. Don't get me wrong, Kitna did fine, but the notion that the team wouldn't have done just as well or better without Romo in there is foolish. QB was never the problem. We beat New Orleans and Philly if we have our starting QB.
No guarantees the Cowboys would have finished strong under Romo because he's only been able to maintain his game once in 5 seasons during Dec/Jan.
Not this again. We've been over this so many times - the culture of the organization has far more to do with this team's late-season struggles than Tony Romo.

Well, that and what's usually a tougher schedule. Another arguemnt for another day.

He's not the QB Romo is but he has some qualities that I wish Romo had. He shows leadership and he doesn't let mistakes get him down.

Kitna has some fire in him and Romo could learn some things from him.
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!! Haven't we spent enough time on this? :bang2:

Anyway, sit on this and "spin". :)

There two big obstacles: opportunity and need. We probably won't be in a position to draft him in the first place, and even if we were, Jerry in all likelihood wouldn't go the Rodgers-Favre route by drafting an heir apparent.

Dream on, mon ami.

No one will let us have Luck.

Our best bet is a Mallett.

Do you normally expect a QB to deliver a SB after only 3 years starting? 2006 doesn't really count for Romo in my opinion. Neither does 2010.

Seems to me you are holding Romo to an unrealistic expectation. Just because Rodgers won it relatively early with his team and Raper boy with his doesn't mean that Romo should be expected to do the same with the Cowboys.

Again....team sport. The better team usually wins championships, not necessarily the best QB.

Holy cow, that's an AMAZING photoshop.

Kudos to whoever was able to pull that off, it's awesome.

It's obvious you don't know me you just like putting your own spin on things.

Romo takes one hard hit in 6 games last season that put him on the shelf for the rest of the year because of a missed block and you have a few fans saying he's taking a beating.

I was a member of another board and it was never mentioned. Again I'm not saying it didn't happen I'm saying I never heard about it.

The Cowboys were competitive the first 6 games because the team hadn't quit yet and they had their starting QB playing.

When Kitna took over he was terribly rusty from not playing in 2 years. It took a few games for him to work off the rust and get comfortable with the receivers he hadn't been working with.

The Cowboys had to scale their offense down when he first took over until he got up to speed.

The team was already deflated from being 1-5 now they were stuck at 1-6 having to play with an aging backup QB.

The team proceeded to give up after the JAX game until Jerry shook things up after the GB debacle by firing Wade and giving the players a warning their jobs for next season were on the line.

The Cowboys became very competitive after that winning their next 2 straight and it would have been 3 straight had it not been for Roy Williams fumble against NO late in that game.

The Cowboys lost 3 games by a total of 7 points after the shakeup. The team ended the season a very competitive team and it earned Garrett the head coaching job.

I never gave the notion the team wouldn't have done just as well or better with Romo. Isn't that what you meant? That's just you putting your own spin on things again. LOL

It probably would have gone better with Romo the key to the improved play was Wades firing, Garrett's promotion along with Jerry's warning to the team.

As for the Saints game easy to say the Cowboys would have won that game with Romo. Kitna completed 71% of his passes in that game for 313 yards and brought the team back from a 17 point deficit.

Doubt Romo could have performed any better than Kitna did that day. Romo hasn't exactly excelled when the Cowboys are getting their butts handed to them.

He's too busy losing his poise and sulking on the sidelines during times like that.

What lost that game was Roy Williams fumble after a beautiful throw from Kitna then our swiss cheese defense proceeded to give up the winning score with less than 2 minutes to play.

Romo's played a big part in the Cowboys late season struggles all you have to do is compare his career stats in Nov with his career stats from Dec/Jan and pay special attention to the increase in his turnovers during the crunch games.

The team plays like he does during those months his play affects the entire team. Now go twist everything I've said to fit whatever agenda you have.
