We're in big trouble with Dak, he stinks.
Kills me JG did not allow Tony to play in the playoffs when he came back from his injury. He was in a rush to give this guy the keys? sad
Dak doesn't stink, but he's not a finished product either. I'm hopeful that he'll take a step forward this season (but I don't like the WR options and don't want to waste draft capital on on a high pick).

I agree about Romo. Said it at the time and still saying it. A starter should never lose his job to an inferior player due to an injury.

How the hell do you know? Do you know what each route was? The depth it was supposed to be run? What options were there based on coverage?

The facts are we brought in WRs, are talking about drafting more, and Stephen specifically brought up route running needing to improve.

The fact that Dak is throwing late, wrong spot to ALL the WRs, not just one but ALL of them. This says it's Dak who needs to improve. There's a reason why he is a 4th round pick. He has potential but he has plenty of room for improvement.

Video is biased and agenda driven in my opinion. Comes off as a butt hurt Dez fan to me.
Dak needs to work on his game, I agree, and believe he will. I'm one of the few that believe he's not near as bad as some folks lead you to believe, but this video imo has no credibility whatsoever on my opinion.
Dak wasn't able to step into his throws on a couple of his points, and seems to me if your knowledged enough to make videos you'd know the difference between a wr screen and a hitch pattern. Just my opinion. Daks a 4th round pick for crying out loud.

I don't have a problem with posters who like Dez. I just have a problem with Dez.

Yeah and “took the low road with one of the players on your favorite team”.

I’m a big fan of both guys and obviously the team. Just pointing out you can’t post one way then call others out.

Well you can, it’s just hypocritical

Dak is not bad, but right now, he's a below average passer, a good runner and a very good leader. All that averages to a pretty good QB. It may be good enough to make the playoffs with the talent around him, but I don't really believe this team is good enough as it stands. Hopefully Dak will continue to develop and the draft will help (and that Jerry doesn't stick that 12 million he saved on Dez into his back pocket).

LOL, Would be glad to shut up about things like this, let's see if others can shut up and simply share their opinions instead of getting butt hurt when posters don't share the same opinions as them. I doubt that will happen though.

Ok fair enough. Many players in his position have room to improve, but to make this truly about Dak only and not just another Dez retread - we can agree that it was most likely, based on all the info we got before and after, the best decision for both Dez and Dallas that we cut Dez as they did. He wasn't worth the money for his talent at his age with his diminishing skill set, athleticism, and plain abilities to separate from defenders even in one on one situations. WRs we picked up and rookie from draft will give us something to grow on and maybe with a little more maturity.

As far as Dak goes, yeah he does have his own set of problems, but they are correctable and he is young considering where he was picked. We will definitely know more by the end of this year. Romo had 4 years to grow before he saw the field and considering he was undrafted, worked out pretty good. We will see but he has a great attitude, leadership, and the skillset to build on.

Agree with you about Dez. He's never been a WR that "separates" much like Keyshawn. Dez will be fine as long as he goes to a QB who can "throw him open".

I am really hoping Dak is the man but I have some reservations. The main one is like for all QBs....how fast can you process information after ball is snapped. I've always remember Woody saying during an interview that he would be watching Romo practice and the ball would be thrown and he is wonder where the hell Romo is going with the ball and suddenly the receiver flashes into the picture and catches the ball. That's ability to see, process and execute in fraction of secs.

Dak certainly has right attitude and approach to the game and like a Cowboy fan I am rooting for him and keeping my fingers crossed.

Basically, we're not making the same mistake concerning Dez. Back when it was Marion BarberIII, we gave him a huge contract facing a draft that was loaded at Rb, and then took a complementary type of RB.

In this case, we are faced w/ a deep draft at WR. So, the best scenario is to not pay your returning guy and get some talented guys in the draft. Lots of good route runners, no need to overpay anyone.

What made Dez effective was his ability to make plays on contested footballs. That skill is diminished when the QB can't place the ball where a WR gets an advantage on those plays. To me, this is not so much about Dez's diminishing skills, but the QBs lack of touch and accuracy). From that point, it is probably better for Dez to go elsewhere, but unless a QB can work on these skills with players that give him the best chance at success, he won't necessarily improve. Classic Catch 22: Dez doesn't suit Dak's current skill-set, but would have been helpful at improving it.

Dak can and has made those throws, they're just not fairly illustrated in this one sided video. He certainly can improve and needs to, but the video should be titled "All Daks bad passes and other bad offensive plays." Because they're not all Dak, that's why it's not a good video. It's not accurate. You can't blame Dak for making a bad throw or throwing it away because he's getting hit. There's plenty of things we can be critical about without fabricating plays. And, the anti Dak crowd eats it up.
"Throwing a WR open, Can't throw the back shoulder fade, tight windows, noodle arm etc..."

The Cowboys management with this Dak's friendly plan is trying to change a lot of players,so Dak's deficiency is minimized.
Why not just draft another quarterback.

Because they are extremely hard to find. Most of the qbs the Cowboys had confirm interest in over the years are bums or out their reach, lets go through the list. Johnny Manziel, Paxton Lynch, Connor Cook, Cam Newton, Dak Prescott and Carson Wentz. Of the ones that pan out two were top 10 picks. One was a mid round pick who needed development. Qbs don't grow on trees.

I'm not as concerned about the bad throws Dak makes.

I'm concerned about the throws he refuses to make.

Funny how all the receivers are working with David Robinson on route running...hmmm
