Really? Aikman (even early in his career) was a pocket passer who was big enough to shake off would be tacklers to avoid sacks, but not that mobile. Prescott is more mobile in and out of the pocket. Aikman had a better arm and was more accurate. To me the only thing they have in common is that they are both right handed and have a single digit on the back of their uniform instead of two.
The mobility is a difference.

They are the same in that they throw to the open man and expect him to be where he's supposed to be. That's one of the reasons for all of Dak's errant passes last year, Dez read the D wrong and made the wrong cut. At times.

To be clear, I'm not blaming all of it on either. It was some of both.

Could you elaborate? I thought Aikman was known for being an immobile, accurate, timing, pocket guy. Dak is a mobile guy who struggles with accuracy, right?
Yes, he does, but he's the same type in that he throws to a spot and expects the WR to be there. Romo fit in better w/ Dez because he was in improvisational type who threw to the player.

Stephen is on record talking about better route running...fact
We cut the worst route runner on the team...fact
All the receivers, but Dez, had been working with a route guru before Dez got cut...fact
They brought in WRs who were good route runners in FA and have been looking at WRs in the draft who are, wait for it, good route runners...fact

I wonder what the heck you're gonna post when Dak continues stinking it up out there come this season.
Let's see how many excuses are used by the time Dak is benched.
Entertaining fantasy world you dak-bots have going here....
In the end we will all be here when Dak is DONE in Big D as the young man has very little raw talent as a QB.
Next please!

Okay, this is fair early in Troy's career (though he got a little more varied as his game developed). This type of play only works if you have elite arm strength and accuracy. Dak has neither right now and is hindered by his mechanics (i.e footwork and throwing mechanics). He needs to get rid of the ball faster!

He has a better completion percentage in his first two seasons. Quite a few more attempts. All we have to go on.

You're missing my point (and Mr. Biassed filmmakers too). This is about Dak's throwing, timing and accuracy (and to a certain extent, his decision making when he unnecessarily checks down). Regardless of the video's intent, a number of points are right. Yes, Dez made a TD on the fade (where the ball did not fade), but that was just a great catch on a poor throw. Dak was plagued by a number of poor throws that got bailed out with nice plays. Receivers (including Dez) had to play DB an number of times too when Dak decided to throw it to the wrong guy.

I never said Dak wasn't talented, but he's not a great thrower of the football yet.
Once again you are missing the point, NOBODY KNOWS IF A THROW THAT LOOKS BAD WAS A BAD THROW UNLESS THEY KNOW ALL THE DETAILS OF THE PLAY, PROGRESSIONS, ROUTES BEING RUN, OPTIONS OFF THOSE ROUTES, ETC. It is all guess work and opinion. I don't know, you don't know, and the guy making the video sure as hell doesn't know.

I don't care if the guy is prejudiced against Dak. Anyone with half a brain can see that. The problem comes when you put blinders on and can't see that a lot of what he's saying is right. I've seen plenty of Dak highlight reels to know what he can do. It's important to see the opposite side too. You can be a fan of a team (even a player) and still acknowledge that he has flaws in his game. Like it or not Dak ain't the perfect QB (and likely never will be). My hope is that he improves in the areas he needs to to allow his other abilities to really shine.
You may not care if person feeding you information is prejudiced but I do. If I'm getting information I want unbiased information. There's nothing wrong with criticizing him. But show both sides. We all know he isn't perfect and struggled last year.

Dak definitely has a lot to work on.

Do people who show Dak highlight films deserve the same scrutiny?

Of course they do. But mind you...a highlight reel is for highlights....not lowlights. Now for guys who make videos titled "The Greatness of Dak.." or something along those lines? Yeah those guys should tell both sides of the story.
