Good things about Jared Goff

As much as I hate on him for his skinny frame the guy is only 21 and should be able to put on more size to that frame.

Hopefully that would lead to him being able to get more zip on those passes.

Also, his footwork in the pocket is the best in this draft.

Hes only 21 years old so even if Romo played 3 or 4 more years then Goff would only be 24 or 25.

I think Wentz has way more potential but if we drafted Goff I still think there is plenty of reason to get excited.

I just can't stop see'ing a young Sam Bradford when I see Goff.

I'm really interested in seeing how big his hands are tomorrow

I'm basically praying he doesn't check in with baby hands

I don't care which qb we take...I'm just hoping we have two qbs worthy of the our pick on the draft board...the last thing we need is to have only one qb in mind and cle take that guy

I think he can put on more weight, but if not, so what?

Brady was skinny when he came into the league. So was Joe Montana.
And the way the league protects quarterbacks now, I'm not worried about him being skinny. He has the height and the necessary mechanics. And he's not going to be running around in the pocket, running the read option or sprinting up field, ala, Robert Griffin or Johnny Manziel.

So even if he doesn't put on another pound, I'm good drafting him.

Not feeling goff or wentz but I hope dallas choses the right on if they do go qb @ 4.

I still wouldn't be suprised if they don't get a qb with the 1st or 2nd pick though.

I prefer Wentz for upside but Goff would definitely work, accuracy is what I like about his game.

I like Wentz much more but he may very well be gone
The biggest worry I have with Goff is the fumbles. He fumbled way to much. And while it seems silly hand size does seem to matter to qb's so that will be something teams will look at
I think Goff is more nfl ready than Wentz I just love the upside of Wentz. Sadly one of these kids is going to have his career destroyed in Cleveland and the other could land in Dallas

I see a young Drew Brees honestly(best case obviously). Instead of being borderline too short, people are going to knock his weight.
His footwork in the pocket and his ball placement...he just looks like a professional already. I don't think there are any concerns with his football IQ either. I also like him because I think he has a low floor. Worst case scenario I can see him being a game manager who can rely on to not throw a lot of INT's.

The love affair for Wentz and Goff here is sickening....Lynch spins the ball...enough said. Gonna laugh when everyone comes around and sees this for themselves.

NFL Network has the following draft grades:

Goff 6.7
Lynch 6.4
Wentz 6.2

I realize that this is not the end all of the draft process and I'm sure Wentz is at least 2nd on everyone's board... would love for Dallas to go defense at 4
and see Lynch somehow slip past a couple of QB needy teams to be there at 34 overall... let him sit and learn a bit while our 1st rounder helps turn the
defense into something more formidable for 60 minutes every week.

I know it is most unlikely to happen, Lynch is probably going to LA, but it would sure be fun to see the Wentz family go ballistic over the snub.

I agree, just watched a Goff 9 minute highlight video, just play after play and there was not one diving catch or what you would call a great catch by any receiver. I know they are handpicked plays but there were a lot of them and he throws a very easy ball to catch, his ball placement is very good.

I also prefer Wentz but it wouldn't surprise me if Goff ended up being better.

Please post a link....because every tape I've seen ........Goff throws a ball that looks like and end over end punt.

Here you go Floaty.

Welp...Here is your Floaty breakdown.

Not once in that clip did you see him make a throw from one hash mark to the other side of the field...goes to show the coaching staff knows he has a lack of arm strength.

Second....He was late on many of his throws....

Third.... Most of those completions are of the safe variety. Post corner routes...Wheel routes....Skinny posts vs man w/ single high safety coverage. You just don't see a lot of throws that he will have to make in the NFL...the deep sideline throws..the dig routes across the middle where timing and accuracy are important.

The more I watch this kid...the more I suspect a circus carny selling snake oil.

The only thing this kid has got going for himself is the quick feet...and that should be expected since he is a fly weight.

I wish I had more positive news...But I just don't see it. And if he shows up @ the combine w/ girly hands....watch out...He might fall out of the 1st. Wouldn't shock one bit.

He throws a 40 yard bomb from the opposite hash on the first play in the clip.... he's definitely late on a lot of throws.

You might want to watch that clip again....ball was snapped from the 35...and the WR CAUGHT IT @ the 4 .....Far from a bomb. If that is the extent of Goff's arm strength....then he's in trouble.

And nothing like starting that clip w/ a bold face lie....Goff has never been close to 215 Lbs.

Line of scrimmage was 35, yes... he threw from the 40... I thought the point was throwing from the opposite hash..
I did agree with you that he's late on his throws which means picks in the NFL... I really hope they go defense in the
first... bad year to need a QB imo.

Goff actually reminds me of Ty Detmer quite a bit.

Here you go Floaty.

After seeing that, I'm more of a Goff fan. He has nice movement in the pocket. He's incredibly accurate on the intermediate to deep ball. And he's always looking to complete the pass.

Besides, I know he (and Wentz for that matter) would love to play for America's Team rather than for the Cleveland Browns.
