We're going to take CB at 22 I believe. I honestly can't see us going WR or RB there unless McFadden or Mendenhall were sitting on the board at 22. Since there is no chance of that happening I just don't see us taking a back till at least 28, and probably more accurately in round 2.

Value in this Draft is better allocated to take CB at #22 and WR or RB at #28 based on who's available.
There's not a scenario at #22 where the Cowboys score a victory by taking a WR at #22 - including Kelly. BUT Kelly at #28 is a win in my eyes.

why would we spend a 1st round pick on a RB AND pay Marion Barber?

why not?

I don't see why everyone thinks drafting a RB means Barber goes unsigned

no mention of Hardy ?

I dislike the thought of Felix Jones being our selection

He mentioned Hardy in the early 2nd round.

I won't be excited by Felix Jones at 28, much less 22

I just don't see that Felix Jones is so much better than the 2nd round backs. I don't dislike him I just can't see passing on Jenkins or Talib unless I really like Cason and or think I can get Talib or Jenkins at 28.

It seems obvious to me or extremely likely that a CB we take in this draft will see more plays and is more likely to be exposed than a 2nd round RB or WR.

This guy needs to be able to play from day one and when it's all said and done a guy available at our 2nd round pick is going to have alot of people pass on him for one reason or another. That doesn't mean he can't play, but he obviously has more question marks than the 1st round guys.

I think we will most likely take a CB at 22, unless someone we had as a top 10 - 15 pick falls to us at 22.

At 28, I really think JJ may try to trade down to the early part of the 2nd round, if possible. If he can do that, there will be a lot of value there, possibly including players like J Charles, R Rice, E Bennett, Doucet, B Albert, K Phillips, P Sims, the OT from BC (can't think of his name), etc., etc.

There should be a lot of talent available in the 2nd round, and if JJ can pick up an extra pick by moving down a few spots from 28, I think he will try.

1st Round RB at 22

McFadden Gone
Menenhall gone
Stewart Probably gone, if there take him
Jones thinks Dallas should take him

Bubble Charles, Johnson

1st Round WR at 28

Kelly Gone
Thomas Gone
Sweed available
Jackson available Thinks Dallas should take him

mentioned a Boise State CB in the 2nd round, thinks Talib will be there at 28, thinks it's possible Jenkins is there, still says take WR, hrmm likes Jackson over Sweed because of return skills, and the wrist

FWIW says value is at the RB spot at 22, WR spot at 28 and CB in the 2nd round, bleh

Did Goose actually watch any of our games? Did he actually watch Reeves and Nate Jones getting raped on a weekly basis?

Only a freaking ****** would draft a back-up RB at 22 when you only have 2 legit corners on the roster? Amazing:mad:

We wont.

If we draft a RB in the 1st round, Barber is good as gone after this year.

Teams dont spend 1st round picks on backups, at least not intentionally. If a 1st round pick is a backup for any extended period of time it is usually a good indication he is a bust.

we do. look at our last 2 first rounders: bench warmers.

Spencer is going to replace Ellis, so I view him as a starter in waiting. Kinda like a first round corner this year will be the future replacement for Henery.

Carpenter, I hate to say, is a bust in our system. He is a 4-3 LB that never should have been drafted by us. When I think Cromartie was picked by San Diego 1 spot later, I get sick to my stomach.
