Gosselin: Dez Bryant hasn't been a great receiver this season, but Cowboys handed out a worse contract this offseason

...Listened to the game on the Internet. Knowing Jason Garrett is unfortunately probably safe. Linehan and offensive line coach should get resumes ready. Also in evaluating the draft is wide receiver a quiet need for this team?
A wide receiver is a definite need for them. Dez drops balls and Williams tends to disappear at times in games. Beasley is just a short option. I'd like a big, physical speed guy who can stretch a defense vertically. Maybe it's Brice Butler. But we won't know until he gets on the field. There are higher priorities on draft day, though, than WR. But you can find them in every round of every draft -- if you know what you're looking for. I really liked Stefon Diggs of Maryland last April. The Vikings took him in the fifth round and he's had 100-yard games for them. Big, fast and physical. Those guys are out there.
...Should the Cowboys draft a RB or WR? The defense is good not great and I think the offense needs more playmakers.
Forget the playmakers on offense. This defense is in dire need of playmakers on defense. Their cornerbacks haven't intercepted a pass in a year. They have the fewest takeaways in the league. One of the keys to Carolina's success is that their defense has forced 33 turnovers. The Cowboys have forced just eight. That's the gap that separates a Super Bowl contender form a pretender. I would agree the Cowboys need to focus on quarterback and running back in this draft. But I would not be adverse to drafting a defensive tackle, an outside linebacker, a cornerback and a safety next April. This defense is by no means a finished product. If they all stay healthy, the Cowboys can be at least competitive on offense with Romo, McFadden, Bryant, Williams and Witten in 2016. But I'd also be looking for near-future replacements at QB, RB and TE.
