McFadden is no success story. He is good at getting what is blocked but he has reached his ceiling. I would much rather have a DJohnson, KWilliams, TRawls, BAllen for the next 3 years.

the only one that has done better than mcfadden is Rawls. I dont want mcfadden next yr but for this yr he outplayed all of them except Rawls. Hell none of the other guys can even start on their own teams. McFadden would be over 1000 yrds if it wasnt for this team force feeding the ball to Randle to start the yr.

Maybe Crawford will turn out to be a bad contract but we will only know when Dallas puts a better DT next to him. Sapp had McFarland next to him and Randle had Jerry Ball; Booger and Ball > Golden Cock.

For those clamoring for running backs, be very careful with drafting them high.

Recent first round picks before last draft (there were none in 2013 or 2014):

Trent Richardson
Darren McFadden
CJ Spiller
Ryan Matthews
Knowshon Moreno
Jonathan Stewart
Felix Jones
Rashard Mendenhall
Chris Johnson
Adrian Peterson (2008)
Marshawn Lynch (2008, but in Buffalo)

Most running backs are fairly pedestrian in the NFL compared to others. Don't be fooled by college success; there's a good chance that Ezekiel, Henry, Perine, Fournette, etc, could all be just average backs in the NFL once their day arrives.

You could make a case like that for any college prospect, at any position. Do your homework. Stick to your board, and be fearless.

Are you pretending this year never happened?

Are you pretending Romo's career never happened? Dallas has its franchise QB. So Dallas should go into next yr with its franchise QB and say ok ur going to get hurt lets pick a guy with the 7th pick to replace you eventually. But if you stay healthy its ok. But if you get hurt we have a guy who is not ready to start in the NFL.

Romo came back too early. For that same bone to break like that it was clear it wasnt totally healed. Thats him tho he will sacrifice his body because he knows this team needs him. He did it when he could barely breath a few yrs ago in the niners game, and he did it last yr when he broke his back vs the Commanders. This team shouldve just waited until he was completely healthy. Plain and simple. Romo still isnt on IR because if this team wouldve been able to make the playoffs he was going to go. Theres no quit in him unlike fans that can quit on team/players when the going gets tough

I want Romo the next couple years but he won't make it thru unscathed. We need to surround the position and turn it into a strength.

We need to bring Romo back. He only makes 22m the next 2 years.
We need to draft a QB early this year. First or second round.
We need to sign a better vet to back-up like Kap, RGIII or Manziel. Someone athletic enough to survive a few games with a strong arm and a starters mentality.

Competely agree. I would rather a wr than a rb early.
Prosise, Perkins, Hunt should all be good NFL players and will be mid rounders.

Are you going to pretend Romo hasn't missed games in each of the last 3 seasons? It's going to happen.

Tony Romo accounts for 45.5 mil dollars over the next two yrs. I dont see why people seem to want to not include that signing bonus money into figuring how much a player is owed a yr. Thats ridiculous, yes its been paid but its still counting against the cap. its 45 over the next two yrs not 22.

I would not hate it if Dallas brought in Kaepernick

Thats is alot better idea then drafting a project at 7.

E.Elliott is that special back I would take in Round 1. He's better than Gurley IMO

I disagree. But if the Cowboys think the same thing that you do then they should take him over ANYBODY in the draft

His cap hits are accounted for, they were planned. Those are sunk costs

I mention his salaries because they are real new dollar amounts and aren't guaranteed. They are 8.5m in 2015 and 14m in 2016, those are bargains. It goes up to 20m in 2018-19 so they will have to make a decision then but not now.

Getting rid of Romo won't be viable until 2018 and DAL should have an in house replacement by then.
A first round draft pick can be controlled for 6 years before hitting FA, so drafting a Goff and having him sit for a year or two would be worth it.

...Dallas needs that one RB who can just get 4-6 yrds no matter the situation. Murray did that last yr. Alot of people are trying to say Dallas made a mistake of letting him go. The guy got 40mil Now philly is stuck with a fully guranteed contract next yr.

I don't understand your post. Who is still saying we made a mistake in letting Murray go? Who still says that besides you?

The Eagles third-string running back cannot get 4-6 yards "by himself no matter the situation." You have clearly mythologized the guy in your mind. No runner can do that, least of all Murray.

How the heck was it a mistake to dodge that $40 million train-wreck situation.

If you didnt say it then dont worry about it.

Dont compare the Eagles scheme to Dallas. Murray type of Rb was the perfect fit for Dallas. But not for the price he got.

People need to stop w/ the idea that patching holes is gonna fix the problem....Romo coming back is not gonna fix the problem. This pig needs to be blown up.....and start over. You do what you have to do to get one of the top 2 QBs coming out of this draft. Lynch or Goff....and start rebuilding from there. People who think Romo is the answer...must have not lived through the Danny White era. Danny got the Cowboys to 3 straight NFC championship games.....but couldn't get over the hump....then slowly faded. Same thing has happened to Romo...3 Straight do or die to make the playoffs....and fail....slow decline thereafter. The sooner we realize the time to rebuild is now....the better off we will be in the long run. Regardless....I do whatever I gotta do to get Lynch and rebuild around him.

First and foremost drafting a QB with this coaching staff won't help.. We have to can Garrett, but Jones will give him another year.
