why do people get so upset over people's mock drafts?

I was surprised because of the accuracy of Gosselin. I don't see WR at #1 as even a remote possibility.

That makes a lot of sense business-wise, since people insist that there be movement on mock drafts every 24 hours. Wait to get your accurate draft out at the end.

I would say its a definite possibility depending on how the draft falls...Owens is 32, Glenn is 31 and last yr was only the 3rd time in his career that he's played 16 games...behind them there isnt much of anything, as Crayton looked like a 4th or 5th WR at best after he returned from injury

I think Santonio Holmes would be more of a possibility than Chad Jackson if both were available because he has great speed and big play ability plus he is a potentially great return guy...with the 18th pick it very well could be he would be the player that presents the best value because he fills the 3rd WR role, he is good insurance should Glenn or Owens get injured and he has real value as a return guy...people have to remember you dont just draft players for NOW, you are also drafting for the future...anybody that believes that Owens and Glenn are here for the long haul are kidding themselves

I don't see us picking a first rounder who is going to be on the field less than 50% of plays. There are "projects" available in the 2nd round if we want something like that.

Leinart to the Aints  please after giving Brees a 10 million signing bouns like they shell out another 10 mil bonus to draft a QB that is about the stupidest thing on a mock draft :bang2:

Please everyone knows the Aints are going to draft Mario or Ferguson or trade out of the 2nd spot

no way NO drafts a QB at that spot, Cutler gets taken that high, or Ferguson drops that low

18. Dallas Santonio Holmes WR Ohio State
With two starting wideouts in their 30s, the Cowboys need some youth on the flank. Holmes brings big-play potential in the Terry Glenn mold, averaging 18.4 yards per catch last season.

Although I would prefer Jackson if both were available, I could live w/ this pick.
We NEED to groom for the future!

Would you honestly be comfortable with a project replacing an injured Terry Glenn for a playoff run at the end of the season? I'd be ok with the consensus best WR in the draft at 18, depending how the other picks ahead of us pan out.

I wouldn't have a problem with Crayton stepping up to the #2 spot presumably with a lower draft pick as #3. I would have a problem with Singleton going down and only having Burnett at OLB.

From PFT --

SAINTS GENUINELY INTERESTED IN LEINART

Although our initial reaction to the news that quarterback Matt Leinart will be visiting the Saints was that Leinart's people are merely trying to coax the Titans to trade up in order to get him, a league source tells us that the Saints genuinely are interested in Leinart, and could select him with the No. 2 overall pick.

New Saints coach Sean Payton, we're told, regards Leinart as a legitimate franchise quarterback. And many guys around the league believe that, if a team can get a franchise quarterback at the top of the draft, the team should jump on him.

Of course, whether the guy actually pans out remains to be seen. Over the years, the success rate of first-round signal-callers is 50 percent, at best.

Most people assumed that the Saints would not draft a quarterback at No. 2, since New Orleans signed quarterback Drew Brees last month to a big-money, multi-year deal. But a $12 million option bonus that comes due next March could make the Brees deal a one-year, $10 million arrangement, especially if he's unable to fully and adequately recover for a shoulder injury.

Leinart also is an attractive option for the franchise, if the Saints are sold and moved to Los Angeles. We've recently heard that, despite all of the warm and fuzzies of late between the NFL and New Orleans, the Saints could be gone as soon as 2007.

Payton: "We're interested in Leinart."

Media: "They're just bluffing."

Payton: "No, we're really interested in Leinart."

Media: "Ok, we'll play along."

What is this guy drinking? I don't see how we could go WR after signing T.O.

I don't think we'll draft a WR at 18 either. IMO, the chances are pretty low.

If we pick Holmes at #18, I sure hope that he can play special teams. Crayton is a solid #3 receiver on this team, the fourth receiver will rarely see the field in his rookie season. I just don't see it in round one.

I think we'll definitely draft one.

I'd guess 5th.

I'm thinking we take an OLB, OL, and CB/FS the first day of the Draft. WR more likely on the 2nd day. But who knows? It's all speculation.

All I do know is that we need a quality starting FS heading into this coming season. I don't care how we get one . . . . This is one position that is DEEP in this year's draft, so we should have ample opportunity to land a solid one.
