Grade the Boys?

What I like is that for just about all our top five picks, one of their defining qualities is their intelligence. And we're not reaching on Tony Dixon-smart, either.

I give them a C.

That's passing.

It won't get us to the Super Bowl. It'll give us another 8-8 season.
8-8 Season? Think, Dallas was 9-7 last year. Now they added T.O., Fabini, and Mike Vanderjagt. With those additions to the team, Dallas should atleast have a 10-6 season. But I do agree with you, the draft is not going to have a major impact on the outcome of the season. The only players I think can make a impact from day one, are B. Carpenter and A. Fasano.

Draft Grade C-

I'd say a C+ or B-. A little better than the average draft and a whole lot better than some of our previous drafts. Enough that it should have a positive overall impact on the team.

I can see the rational behind each pick. Well, I know nothing of the 7th round guys but their positions make sense.

I'd say we've improved our team this weekend!

I'd rather wait until our UDFA haul becomes known. If we get any combo of Nance, Baskett, R. Wright, etc. then it'd be at least a B.

All Around a C. We didn't get any steals which means JJ is a little gun shy on taking chances ala Quincy Carter. We drafted a lot solid guys but the true value of this draft will not be realized until 3 years from now, it could be like last year's draft of like the year we drafted Goodrich and larrimore.

B- I think they took some luxuries when they possibly could have filled some holes. That said, I'm pretty satisfied with it.

C...C+ tops.

Our oline will hurt us this year...Kosier is unproven and we have no one if he does not pan out. This was a deep oline class and we did not address it early enough.

Well, I'd argue that we are covered with Peterman, and possibly Gurode behind Kosier and Rivera. And I wont believe for one second that any guard we could have drafted would be any better than Peterman this coming year. Better in the future, maybe. But better this coming year, no.

Solid B.

The #18 is usually in the no man's land of precipitous drop off from the top echelon talent. Carpenter was the right man at the right place.

I will hold with Jaws that Fasano was great value, til proven otherwise.

The FSU safety pick passes the 'excitement' test.

More than anything, I like how JJ got his 4th back and how he manuvered up a bit for Watkins.

Nothing splashy..it all smelled of competence to me, no panic or egregious reaching, and there's a very professional feel to the JJ-Bill-Ireland team now that I find immensely comforting.

B almost B+

the fasano signing is finally being noticed as a good signing, IMO it sucked at first and now its awesome.
we got great talent on the 2nd day just like i expected, and first day the only guy people didnt like was hatcher and he was basically the BPA according to goose.

I have a better feeling after what I seen the Cowboys do on the second day!! This draft turned from a C grade to a B to B+ grade because we got a huge sleeper in the DT from Louisville who I think will cause some havoc in the middle and you gotta love getting a Pat Watkins late like that!

I'd grade it as a C....... and say it lowers last years A to a B since now Burnett, Beriault, Ratliff, and (Ryan or Pierce -which ever was the one they drafted last year) are now nothing but backup players at best and quite possibly busts.

Either that, or they are idiots at signing FA's, I am not sure which. Of course, if they are idiots at FA then the OL is in trouble, BIG TROUBLE.
