Don't worry. The grandkids were there taking notes. We are in good hands going forward.
hopefully they understand that you can’t just sit and wait for good players to always fall in your lap

I think the main problem with MaziS is the lack of QB sacks in college.

0.5 sacks in 30 games.

That means he’s probably too slow to get outside the A-B gaps.

Maybe dropping a few pounds could help with the speed.

So he will be a huge liability on passing downs.

Yah this was very underwhelming overall. NO guard, not even a RB? This was completely puzzling. Like Mazi and even the TE if they were going to continue on the run game theme.

These clowns obviously think they are going to dominate the NFL in the run game with Pollard, Jones, and this ancient flawed Oline?

Scary stuff.
I think based on what they wanted to do they did pretty well
Like you I would have went oline earlier
They didn’t do what I would have done but they did a solid job of doing what they wanted.
If you value a true NT you got the best in the draft

They get a B. Nice job and combined with the haul of undrafted players it could be an A. Looking forward to the roster competitions in camp.

It looks like from the poll the vast majority think that they did a good job. I think that they did better than people think. One thing that this organization does is draft well.

They certainly get an A on the first pick. They have needed a good run stopping defensive tackle for a decade and they certainly got one in Mazi Smith. Thank goodness they got him. They would not been able to get him later in the draft and they also would have missed out Keeanu Benton as well if they had waited on the dtackle position.

I think that Luke Schoonmaker is going to do well also. He is a complete tight end. He fits what they need. The Cowboys just filled a 2nd hole with their 2nd pick.

Overshown gives them a player with versatility, speed, and a high motor. Interesting tidbit is that Paxton Anderson was his locker mate at Texas. Anderson just happens to be the grandson of Jerry Jones.

Junior Vehoko gives them a relentless player with high motor. He has tremendous upside and bloodlines in that his cousin is Vita Vea.

Asim Richards gives them a guy that can play tackle or inside. Much needed depth on the oline.

I really like what they did on the last 3 picks. 1st of all they made a trade to give them an extra pick at the top of the 6th round. They used that pick on corner Eric Scott Jr. Scott looks like a solid pick. He should beat out one of the other corners to make the team. For those that are questioning his speed, he pulled a quad on that slow 40. He is much faster. They certainly wouldn't draft a corner without the speed to play the position. His tape shows that he isn't a slow player.

Vaughn is an outstanding pick. They got a running back at 212 who will not only make the team, he is going to play.

Jalen Brooks surprised me. His tape shows that he can actually play and should be in a competitive spot to make the roster. He looks strong and certainly can catch the ball. He can play special teams. He has experience as a gunner and on the punt return teams. You can tell from his interview on the Draft Show that he is going to give everything that he has to make the roster and is thankful for the chance.

Overall this draft class has a good chance of being outstanding. They got players that can help them from the top to the bottom.

This was a weird draft. Most would agree DT, TE, G and RB were the biggest needs. Ultimately the Guys from Michigan will decide the draft grade but there is potential beyond them. Overshown looks like a player but what does that say about Clark and Cox? Clearly Cox isn’t well thought of. Clark looks like a steal though. Why in the world did they sign LVE? I think he is just above garbage. Most plays there will be 2 LBs on the field so Overshown looks like a luxury item. Good player but I wish they went need there. Fehoko looks like a red shirt. Justified pick because I think Fowler and Lawrence might be playing their last year here. I loved the Richards pick. That guy is likely a G here and I think he is going to be a good player. Versatile. On paper Scott looks like a moronic pick. Who knows? Trade up to get a guy that could have been a UDFA? Just stupid. Deuce was a great pick. Not a bell cow but that guy is definitely going to be dynamic. Still think they need a masher but I love Deuce. The last pick isn’t worth the time.

I give the draft a B. Marks off for Scott. Just a weird move.

20 invalid votes so far.

NO WAY it was an A or F draft.

Those shouldn’t even have been options.

Options should have been:

B+
B
B-
C+
C
C-
D

I wouldn’t expect any more intelligence from you. Your player analysis takes are some of the worst on this entire board. Spam us daily w trash comps

D+ Not counting the FA's.

This draft seems like a need based draft instead of BPA.

Seems like other teams are getting more creative in looking ahead for the draft in stocking up on picks or smart trades. Seems to stand out more and more.

Now for their pro future.

Mazi Smith: Dominant NT. Never a pass rusher because he carries too much weight to dip into that potential.

Luke Schoonmaker: Kind of a B level starter here for one contract. Better blocker, down field threat and RAC than Schultz but not as crafty finding holes in the defense.

DeMarvion Overshown: Hardest projection. Nickel backer who you can't keep on the field in all situations because of an inability to take on blockers. Valuable role player though. A role we thought was going to Jabril Cox but perhaps we've now Overshown our Cox.

Viliami Fehoko: Nothing. He's a Fehoko. Which means he's a loser. This idea he'll be the next Tyrone Crawford will fail. Much like it did for Tyrone Crawford.

Asim Richards: Backup swing T/G. A real one. Not like Josh Ball.

Eric Scott Jr.: Roster fodder who will stick around on the practice squad too long to try to save face on a horrific trade. He should change his name to Eric Scott-Fehoko Jr. I hate him and so do you. I even hate Eric Scott-Fehoko Sr.

Deuce Vaughn: Pocket Pollard will carve out his own make-a-wish package of 5 or 6 plays a game. Nobody cares. Can't stay on the field enough to matter. Can't wait to see Prescott hand the ball off to his forehead though.

Jalen Brooks: Won't get open in the pros. Will bounce around the league's practice squads for a year or two.

-

So a dominant nose, an okay starting TE, a top nickel backer and a swing tackle.

Ill give it a B to B- that can go up or down 2 grades depending on what the TE does... If he comes in and contibutes nice to the run and has Shultz type numbers (Asumming Smith and others are as advertise of course) then it will go to an A... if he is just another Hendershot/Ferguson then its goes to a c.

I gave it a C just because they finally drafted a 1 Tech early. The rest of it felt very Special Teams-ish to me. Hopefully it ends up better than I am thinking. Very ho-hum for me.
A 1t early warrants a high grade. No one saw it coming. Great job there! How is finding a better blocking TE than the guy that wanted 15 million a season special teamish?

This has the potential to be an F draft if Schoonnmaker and Mazi bust and its 50/50 on those guys.

Smith has a low bust potential if you grade him on what he was drafted to do... Anyone who is expecting him to be A Donald can go ahead and mark this down as a bust because most likley he is not that... if you grade him on what he brings to our run defence then i believe you will be very happy.
