Grade the Oline

I would give them a middling C. Certainly some missed assignments. At least three times in the game I saw stumbling by the lineman assigned to pull. One of them had no one on him, and he stumbled, but was covered by CeeDee who blocked down on the end.

They are not the worst, but I would not rank as the upper rank. They are middle of the road, and they look like a taped together line. Hopefully by the end of the season they begin to gel together.

I'm not grading but it seemed like in the run game the OL got more movement in this game than they've had the whole year, maybe including the past couple of years.

Somehow that seemed to disappear after the last TD drive.

I was going to ask earlier in the week if we had stopped running zone runs because I couldn't remember the last time I saw the Cowboys run them (maybe I'm going senile). Today they ran a bunch and ran play action off them (well the PA came first then the runs; maybe that's why the holes were so huge for awhile?).

In pass offense IIRC they were bad at the beginning but got better as the game went on.

I say C+

There was pressure but it seemed manageable for the QB's and the run game was serviceable against a pretty poor d-line.

Their play has kinda gotten lost in the Dak the injury but all things considered, I'd give them a B, they held their own quite well. Honest question though......do we now put the Martin moving outside talk to rest????

Biadasz got beaten bad for a sack on Dalton's first drop back.
He also snapped it early on the fumble. Go watch the "Dalton's Video" thread, first video, around 0:47.

My rookie C Biadasz had a couple of miscues...but understandable. New QB...different cadence from the QB. Hopefully they will get that fixed during the week coming up.

Conner Williams...meh.....@ least he didn't give up a sack.

Martin....looks disinterested this year. And he too had a couple of gaffs. Not like him.

Steele...is what he is.....a raw rookie...that can pass block ok....but will breakdown vs speed rushers.

Knight....playing out of position....like him better on the right side. But considering what he's been handed...did ok. Might have the toughest assignment for the rest of the year keeping Dalton clean.

I surprised they're doing as well as they are. Losing both tackles, heck, there should almost be a jail break to the QB every play.

They're not great but far less awful than I expected. Knight might have something. Biadasz probably won't ever lose the job despite his miscues.

A lot of replacement players, but not much drop off with the exception of Collins to Steele.

With Looney, Collins, and Tyron out, we've gotten thin on the oline. Senat at T (who?), Henry at C, and McGovern at G were our backup oline.

Martin, Williams, or even Erving could be options over Steele, but I expect they stick with Steele.

I still think Biadasz can play....even though he has made more miscues than I would like...growing pains for sure. Still think our best line up is going to be....

LT-Williams
LG-Mcgovern
C-Biadasz
RG-Martin
RT-Knight

remember this B you are giving them was against the Giants..get a decent defense and Steele will get crushed as usual...we will need to move Martin and find a RG..i think easier to get RG working then RT..but what do i know?

He'll be fine. Looney's Looney and he won't ever be better than he was IMO. Biadasz has the upside. He's got the physical tools, just needs the mental and experience.

He's not Fredbeard but, well, who is?

i would have to give them a B- They really havent played as bad as some think. Without Smith Freebeard and collins the only player that really has proven time is Martin.

Didnt they say the giants had the #5 defense ?

The Giants have zero pass rush and decided early on that they rather have Zeke beat them then their receivers.

Biaz. was awful snapping the football, at least two plays caused points for the Giants, early on in the redzone snapped early and then the Dalton Fumble that led to a TD.

The Line was decent today, let's see how they handle a legit pass rusher in Jones next week.

They did a lot better than I thought. But now need to see some consistency, and against a better defense. NYG D was playing well, and were what 5th as to yards allowed. But their pass rush is probably as bad as ours. Let's see how they do going forward. But looks somewhat encouraging.

Jones will be a good test, but he left the game yesterday. Have not seen what his injury was or how bad. He may have even returned to the game though. Did not see.
