I just hope there are a few DT's among the missing 6-7 official visitors to Valley Ranch that haven't been reported.

I have no doubt they will devote more resources to the defense.

The question becomes where. If they go the secondary route thinking that Marinelli's DL specialty will bridge the gap, that is a mistake.

I understand worrying about that. I too love DL drafted high when you run a 43. I just don't think that secondary is as unimportant to defensive success as some.

IMO, Dallas feels like WDE, SDE, 3T DT, and CB are the impact positions in this scheme with WLB and MLB not too far behind. SLB, 1T DT, and safety is just not where they want to spend their resources. That I understand as well.

Still, I really like Jarrett and would celebrate if Dallas managed to get him in round 2. He would play some 3T though, along with some 1T... so I don't think he strictly meets the definition of a 1T.

I might include WLB with the impact positions since they we're going to take Shazier last year.

I like Jarrett as well and I think he would be a great addition. Hopefully we are more interested in him than it seems.

If the Lee to WLB thing is true, then it becomes preparing for the fact McClain is on a one year deal and to a lesser extent the strongside LB.

I agree. That's why I had that position just after the others... and you might be right and it belong right along with 3T and DE (although personally I would put it as not quite as important).

I've been paying increased attention to Jarrett over the past few weeks, and I was impressed with an interview I heard with him. He seems like he 'gets it'.

And one thing really struck me in an interview with his head coach Dabo Swinney.

He said that of all of the talented players he's ever had, the one he would pick if he could pick one to start his team would be Grady Jarrett.

That said a lot to me.

People are putting too much stock in reported visits. It was just a few short years ago we traded our top two picks to move up for a player we didn't visit with.

Lord help us if our front office looks at our DT depth chart and goes "yeah, we're good".

The FO does not look at depth charts
They're into counting chairs in meeting rooms
