It’s nice to read about a former Cowboys coach helping out former players even if they are mostly Giants.

“It’s just incredibly generous what he’s done with these guys. Bill has loaned out $4 million to 20 players that played for him, who come to him in this financial crisis. Bill knows when they come to him it’s a last resort,” Myers told WFAN-AM in New York on Friday morning, per the New York Post.

Agree. I think it’s much better now and the workshops and mentoring the players receive is pretty good.

Also young people are just so much more well informed and knowledgeable. I am the godfather to two African American highly recruited 3 & 4 Star football players and they already have LLC’s in place. I didn’t know what the was until my late 20’s.

Way to go Bill, but its a shame , NFL being one of the richest leagues have got no program for players rehab and support programs to support players with genuine grievances
Good for Tuna. As for players and their troubles why is it a shame the league doesn't help them more?

Does your employer do more for you than the NFL?

He’s a great man and motivator and an all time great head coach.

Always got the most from his players and had genuine love for them.

Not surprising really.

I think stuff like this happens more than people realize. It’s not done for accolades and is usually kept quiet.

I enjoyed his tenure here. His press conferences were epic.

Well, depends on their "grievances".
The players make hundreds of thousands of $$$ if not millions; even during Parcells' NYG days.
The league can't do everything for them. Players have to take responsibility for their own finances.

I watched Parcells tell a story that stuck with him throughout his coaching career that he never forgot. It goes that he was coaching DBs at a college in Missouri I believe. I think it was his first coaching job. Any way one of his DB gave up a TD and Parcells is furious and just tore into the kid coming off the field and continued on the sideline until the HC had enough and went over to Parcells and asked him why he was yelling at the kid. Parcells pointed out what he did wrong, poor technique, footwork, etc. The coach told Parcells well do you think that maybe you didn’t teach him the correct way enough. Parcells said that stuck with him.

It’s pitiful that the multibillion a year profits doesn’t take care of its former players. Have you read what’s happening to Bernie Kosar?

I miss Parcells more every year.
While he didn't have playoff success here, he did more than anyone here since
And Jerruh just couldn't stand letting someone else run things their way.

I loved the Parcells years even if we fell short of the goals. He really turned over our roster and brought in some tough players.

Marion Barber was representative of THE Parcell’s type of player. I loved watching Marion Barber run over opposing players. He never quit and gave it 100%.

Good on Bill, but seriously don't these players have people to teach them to manage money? Did none of them actually get a degree and apply it post football?

Well obviously those kids had good people advising them or they sought it out. Or they actually studied in school or paid attention to good advice. Great to see a success story. Was it really the workshops?
