Do you think he's that much of a priority????? My problem is signing him STILL doesn't address the run issue........
With Eberflus coming in I would bet so. His 1 gap approach is going to be ideal for a guy like OSA to shoot gaps and be disruptive. As we know that is great at times, but can create running lanes as well

I pretty much agree with this. I like the guy...he was a national level high school wrestler at the same time as my son, who beat several national ranked wrestlers. But I recognize he is pretty much a one trick pony....he is a decent pocket disruptor but he just isn't very good at stopping the run. With his money, I would much rather pursue someone that is a stud against the run and can get some pressure.

Whoever pays him big money is not going to get what they are expecting.
He is not going to be signing for the minimum allowed in the CBA. He’s not a $30 million per season guy, but if the Cowboys want to keep him it will take some money. It’s not like defensive line is a strong point on this team. Parsons is not going to play on his fifth year option without an extension signed. He will get $30+ million per season. The team has to do something.

Let me be right again. File it away and forget about it when I am.

Whoever signs Osa will live to regret it. He has terrible 2nd contract written all over him.

Which basically means welcome back.
I see other teams offering more $$$ than Dallas...PERIOD!!!!! Would've earmarked him to Washington if they hadn't drafted Johnny Newton.

Don't overpay Osa. Moneyball this thing. Look at the 2nd and 3rd best 3tech at half the price Osa will be.
I think most of the Top Tier DT's in the draft can give the same production while being even more stout against the run.

Hopefully if he makes it there because they will be putting a full court press on getting him re-signed before he's free to talk to other teams. .

These guys really are colossal idiots.

I hope it wouldn't prevent them from taking a DT at 12 if he is the BPA. Nolen and Harmon might be studs.

Of course they will re-sign him, it'll be an opportunity to pat themselves on the back for great drafting. Who wouldn't make a big push to resign a 3-tech with 13.5 career sacks? Including 4.5 in a contract year? And so what if our defense has had pretty much zero consistent pressure from the middle, and has been constantly gashed in the run game since he's been our starter there? He's got some fancypants PFF advanced stats.

This seems like classic Stephen egg on his face over-reacting and he'll probably back up the brinks truck like he did for Gallup or Steele and think he's outsmarted everyone...and I actually like Osa.

Totally agree but we will overpay him by a lot and then say see we spend money on FAs and we are great talent evaluators in the draft and then when he underperforms stupid fans will say “no one could have predicted that” LOL

I've gotta defer to the many college player experts here but yes i'd absolutely look to drafting 1 or more DT's.
He's right there are some Studs/WarDaddies/ Bad mofos at DT, guys that are around 315+ that can play 3T. If Dallas comes away with 2 DTs taken relatively high I wouldn't complain.

I hope one falls to us as that can drastically change the defense from the start.

On topic: Interesting part of Jori's article is Shotty is looking for a run game coordinator meaning an OL Coach. Now this report is in alignment with what Broaddus said about the Cowboys looking at the OL Coach from the Cardinals for the OC position. If true, Shotty will be working with Dak and the passing game a lot.

I would rather sign Milton Williams from the Eagles because he is better at stopping the run
